Hotel Steinbock

My wife and I stayed two nights at Hotel Restaurant Steinbock. (It was to be three nights, but the IT meltdown stole a day and a half of our vacation time in Switzerland.) The staff were warm, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful. They made our stay delightful. Our spacious room had windows and a terrace that looked out over teal-blue Lake Brienz. The room was well furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a feast. The restaurant, staffed with friendly, hustling professionals, served scrumptious food. If you want a lovely place to stay in beautiful Brienz, seriously consider Hotel Restaurant Steinbock. My wife and I will stay here when we return, no question! Do note that this business is a restaurant first, and a hotel second. The staff are fully occupied with their bustling restaurant for most of the day. No one hangs around the hotel desklet to answer calls, emails, or texts. They do receive those messages and they WILL respond. Just not immediately. My wife and I found this not to be a problem at all. But if you are the kind of person who needs immediate and continual attention 24/7, this may not be your best choice. Otherwise, book it right now!
