Don Diego de la Selva

From our arrival at 0230 one morning until our departure a week later Charles and Stephan made us very welcome. We arrived 5 hours late due to a flight delay from Oaxaca and had to get Charles out of bed to let us in. The next morning we found that we were in a tropical paradise with a lovely large room and big swimming pool. The breakfast laid on every day was delicious with scrambled eggs, fruit salad, yoghurt, toast, different jams, cake and cereal - all homemade. Teas, coffee or hot chocolate to drink. Stefan has introduced a colony of indigenous (non stinging) bees and various honey related produce is available to buy. The honey and eggs at breakfast are from Stefan’s bees and chickens. The room was kept spotlessly clean and linen and towels changed frequently. Endless supply of filtered water was a big plus too. Casa Don Diego is centrally placed for restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed trips to Chichen Itza and Lagoona Kaan Luum which was very peaceful as we were the first to arrive.
