This was my first visit to Astana, and my first time in Kazakhstan. The hotel made me incredibly welcome and were helpful and professional to a person. I was visiting my son here, and I don’t speak Russian or Kazakh, but all the staff spoke amazing English which I was very grateful for. My son and I were keen to do some sightseeing, and as it was a special occasion I was visiting for, to have some nice meals. The concierge at the hotel showed us some good places to go, and recommended excellent restaurants. Then booked them for us too. We had drinks and food in the fabulous hotel bar a few times, and they made dangerously good cocktails, including the best bloody Mary I’ve ever had! I used the spa and the gym during my stay and both are really good, the gym especially which is very well equipped for a hotel gym. The room was absolutely superb. Great products in the bathroom and well stocked with water and tea and coffee. Fresh fruit was provided too, and the mini bar was a bit too tempting… the bed and linen were really amazing, and I’m not as young as I used to be so a good bed is really important! My only issue was the heat of the room, but I understand that heating is provided centrally in the winter, so nothing could be done about it. It was fine though, I just opened a window! All in all, this was a wonderful few days. I was able to see my son and the hotel was the icing on the cake. (The hotel also gave him a birthday cake! We were so touched by this gesture. And it was delicious) Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for a superb experience.
