Là Haut & Spa

We booked one night at La Haut & Spa in July '16 and we had a great stay. The B&B is very remote, located on a hill, has a beautiful view on the mountains and has 4 rooms and a spa. We were kindly welcomed by one of the owners. She took the time to explain everything to us about our stay and showed us our room and the spa. We stayed at room "la parenthèse" which is situated on the ground floor and had a nice terrace (not very private though). The room was spotlessly cleand and very nicely decorated with lovely details and lots of wood and stone and had a large flat tv (French channels only). There was no coffee machine, but a water boiler and the coffee and tea bags were available at the adjacent dining room. The bed was large, but the mattress was incredibly hard. The bathroom was very spacious (no door between the sleeping area and the bathroom) and had a large wash basin made of stone. Next to the wash basin there was a refrigerator, filled with some drinks (not free). Small bags of shower gel and shampoo were available as well as towels and bathrobes. The shower was also very spacious (not a cabin). The lighting in the bathroom could have been better, it was quite dark. The spa was absolutely wonderful! Incredibly clean and with a lovely view over the mountains. There was a sauna, a steam cabin, showers and a bubble bath. Outside there was a hot tub and some chairs to relax. The entry to the spa is included in the room price. If you stay for only one night, you can only use the spa in the evening on the day of arrival. (Children are not allowed.) Unfortunately we didn't have access to their wifi network ('le wifi des montagnes' as the owner calls it). As the B&B was very remote, we had dinner there. It was only €17 and included a welcoming drink (a glass of lovely, sweet white wine with rhubarb from a local wine producer), a carafe of wine, water, a large wooden shelf filled with different kinds of chacuterie, cheese, a salad and bread and a small dessert. Highly recommended! You can either eat outside or inside. Breakfast was a bit limited and very French: French bread, a variety of fruit, a small croissant, some sweets, yoghurt and grains, different kinds of jams and some cheese. (In Belgium, there's a lot more variety in our breakfasts.) I would definately recommend this B&B to nature lovers and anyone in search of peace and quiet.
