I stayed here three nights, it was the third hotel of my 10 days in Chengdu and my least favorite.

Pluses:  Bed may be too firm for some, but I found it comfortable.  Room was spacious with a long, cushioned bench under the window and a long, somewhat useless desk on one wall.  Lighting was bright.  Floor in room is bamboo and seemed clean.  Lobby is spacious.  Breakfast has a decent selection.  Location is convenient.  Air con was working, but see below for inconsistency.  Elevator security includes requiring your room key to get to floors where rooms are.  Walk-in shower with good water pressure and hot water.

Minuses: Carpeting in hallways is filthy.  Non-smoking rooms smell faintly of stale smoke; smoking rooms absolutely reek.  Staff speaks no English, they use translating software on their mobile phones.  Room keys needed to be reprogrammed every day; apparently when the housekeepers are finished with daily servicing, they change the locks.  Heat/Air controls were impossible to figure out; hit or miss whether it could be programmed to be colder than the popular 24-25 F.  I got it to 19 one night...but resets when you leave the room.  There is no safe in the room.

Misc.:  The hotel lobby is on the 18th floor, the 1st (ground) floor is an unattended elevator lobby.  If you can't read Chinese, you might not be able to figure out you need to take the elevator to the 18th Floor.  There is some street/construction noise, but blackout curtains help.  Windows can be opened, but close at dusk because bugs fly in.

For the reasonable price, this is an acceptable budget hotel in a convenient location.

Great Location, Basic Hotel with Some Glitches

Quite ok hotel, but not too many facilities. Relatively clean and seems to be a good value, so if you do not want to overpay and do not expect luxuries, this one is for you. Girls at the reception desk are very friendly and, even though they speak little english, will try to help you with anything you may need.
