Liancheng Huatian Hotel - Changsha

This review is from the perspective of an American traveling in China. This is a very nice hotel. This type of hotel whereby in the U.S. it would easily go for $250 to $500/night depending on the city. You will need travel power adapters for the room to power your laptop, cell phone etc. Almost nobody at the hotel speaks English so be prepared to mime your way through or learn a bit of Chinese. The breakfast buffet is very nice and upscale. Lot's of Chinese options plus some American options like eggs cooked to order (if you can communicate what you want). Bed is super comfortable. Wifi is good enough to Skype back to the states. But most other internet is blocked such as Google, Pandora and most other American servers. You can use private VPN to get around that if you understand how to use such services. I only used cell texting and Wifi while there (no cellular voice or data). Both worked no problem. Understand that ATM's in China require 6 digit PIN code. Work this out with your bank before you travel. I walked the area around the hotel. Seemed nice enough and safe. There is a walk of shops adjacent to the hotel which is nice. Across the street is a lake. I will be staying there again on a trip already booked. I highly recommend this hotel.
