Very polite and helpful staff. Cleaned daily. Two fridges in an fully equipped kitchen. Two washrooms on each floor, each floor having its own shower. Nice wooden balcony patio I did yoga on. Low key and quiet hostel. I still met great people, but it’s not as popping’ as the ‘other place’, which is great if you prefer solitude. The neighbourhood didn’t bother me at all, it’s definitely authentic downtown Victoria. I felt safe walking ‘home’ at night after frolicking. The hostel is near convenient bus stops that can take you both far and near. A food market within a few blocks, plus London Drugs where the Umo card can be loaded instead of walking to the visitors’ centre. Everything pretty much is just a quick stroll near by, from overwhelming shopping and restaurants choices, to the scenic water front, and vast network of bike paths and the galloping goose trail.
