Lisbon Colours Bairro Alto Apartments 

We are from Canada and booked 2 rooms at this Aparthotel. The first apartment was room 8 in the main building. It’s on the top floor and has access to the lift (elevator). It offers a beautiful view of Lisbon Castle. It’s a 1 bedroom and is well laid out. The second apartment is number 12. It’s in the adjacent building and is on the 1st floor with no elevator so you have to go up a flight of stairs. It’s a 1 bedroom that goes from the front of the building all the way to the back. The front room is the bedroom and the window opens to the main road facing a Shisha bar. The living room has a pull out couch and is in the back facing the courtyard. This apartment has 2 access points to the private courtyard. Both apartments were quiet and the nightlife didn’t bother us. The building is old and not well insulated so you can hear other guests speaking or going up and down the stairs but it really isn’t bothersome at all. If you’re picky about noise, bring earplugs (although some are provided). The highlight for us was definitely the staff. They are very helpful and kind and even help you carry your luggage, arrange tours, give tips on local attractions etc. Breakfast which is included is offered a few doors down at the restaurant owned by the hotel. It’s a quaint spot with a good selection of meat and vegetarian options. A typical breakfast has scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon (ham), sausage, cheeses, pastries and muffins, yogurts, fresh fruits and juices. The staff here are very helpful and kind and leaving a few Euros as a tip is appreciated. We visited in August 2026 and the street that the hotel is on is under construction. It’s all stone and closed to traffic so you will need to walk to the top or bottom of the street for transportation including to or from the airport. This can make luggage transport challenging. Please email the hotel before arrival and they will give helpful instructions and assistance. There are plenty of convenience stores very close by and a grocery store about a 5 min walk so you can stock your kitchen. There is a full kitchen so you can cook your meals if you like although there are many amazing restaurants nearby. We travelled with 3 adults, a 6 year old child and a 6 month old baby. Most days we left the stroller for the baby in the room and just used the carrier as navigating with a stroller isn’t ideal due to the construction and cobblestone streets. Tips: email the hotel before arrival for instructions and assistance; request a quieter room if you’re sensitive to noise; wear comfortable footwear as there is a lot of walking and a lot of hills and stairs. I would 100% recommend this hotel! The staff are amazing and the location (besides the construction) is perfect!
