Varna Hotel

There's a large lobby, and the room was decent. The hotel is located along the river. If you intend to check out late, make sure you ask and get confirmation first, otherwise, they will try to charge you a late fee.

I had a great vacation in Da Nang City. I stayed at Varna hotel 3 nights. The hotel was wonderful, they had good room with Han river view, good services and good location. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The located near some famous places. I'll come back here again if I go to Da Nang.

Located in Tran Hung Dao street, very close to Han Bridge, this hotel have amazing view with the brigde and the river on the sight. Room rate is reasonable and the service is better than many same ranking hotel. I've been stay there a couple of occasions and always feel happy.

Good location, nice view

Where do I start. I was always wary of this hotel because of the reviews. Funnily enough I found the most things complained about OK, but other things unbelievably bad.
Firstly I thought the reception staff were wonderful and spoke pretty good English, the check in and out process was very good. 
The hotel was very dated and in need of a lick of paint. Our sixties looking room was large and had a wonderful view from the balcony, unfortunately there was nowhere to sit though! The bathroom was ok but with no ventilation at all. The television had a couple of English speaking channels, the bed was reasonably comfortable and the wifi very good.
The cleaning staff came each morning and were quite acceptable.
The biggest gripe we had was the noise sometimes at night. It appeared (at least whilst we were there) that any number of coaches arrived, sometimes early and sometimes late at night. When the guests checked in, the noise was unbelievable. Shouting up and down the corridors could go on for hours at literally any time!
These coaches left early in the morning and breakfast was a complete free for all. Everyone went at the same time causing total havoc and food to run out. In defence of the staff, they tried to replenish but they often fought a lost cause. The fact breakfast time was from 6am to 8.30am, really did highlight that these coaches arrived most days.
It was a shame and it spoilt the stay and I feel it should be pointed out to anyone thinking of staying. If you can forget this, it was ok.
The staff tried very hard to make our stay comfortable but they were facing a constant uphill battle. You really should be warned not to expect a relaxing stay.
On a positive, the hotel is cheap, in a great position and has a wonderful view of Da Nang, which turned out to be a great destination.

Could be so much better

I did not book the cheapest room there, but I felt it was misleading.  The "balcony" was about 2 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet.  Balcony? No, that's an oversized ledge.  The bathroom was newer, so that was good. The free breakfast was ... free.  The desk staff were polite, but unhelpful with 3 requests I made (rent a bicycle, change non-US currency, find some flu medicine).  They didn't change the bedding, and when I asked for a wake-up call they woke me up at 11:00 pm by knocking at the door to confirm that I wanted a wake-up call the next morning.  They never made the wake-up call!
