My Linh Hotel

I booked this hotel mainly for great deal on agoda.com and its location on the beach. Unfortunately marker on agoda.com map is misleading and hotel is over 1 km farther toward port area.  You have to walk 300 m to the beach.  My street side room offered gorgeous views of the bay.  Hotel is getting a little old and need some face lifting.  There are many seafood restaurants next to the hotel.  Also 10 minutes walk away is large local market for those who prefer street foods or wants to buy some fruits.  Reception staff speaks some English, and that was nice surprise in this off beaten tourist path city.  In the room was refrigerator, A/C, fan and TV with cable channels but no English news.  I rented motorbike from hotel and went to see amazing dunes area about 10 km north of Quy Nhon city.   For $13 per night this is a great value for the money.  I recommend this hotel and would stay there again in the future.

Beach nearby, view, location

Beware that the location shown on Agoda's map is WAY off. Perhaps about 1 km further from the main part of town. If you don't like to walk, find a place closer to town. More details on the location: the main street below is quiet and without much traffic, which is good unless you want to catch a moto taxi, as they don't really come up this far. There are a few nice looking seafood restaurants immediately next door, at one of which I sat down and attempted to order dinner. My fault for not having a menu decoder app, but the menu was 12 pages with no pics, so I had a beer and moved on. Another day. Judging by the size of the crowd though, betting the food was good. If you like street eats of eating with locals, jump one block away from the water and walk until you see a crowd, either eating or drinking coffee, depending on what you want. For breakfast I had the best bowl of Pho ever, in one of the dingy open front rooms facing the street, not a restaurant, but part of someone's house. No communication needed, I just sat down on one of those little plastic chairs and looked hungry. There are also street vendors preparing Banh Mi etc. A large produce/fish/meat market is within 10 minutes on the back streets and good food can be found, for the adventurous. You will be stared at, but not in a bad way. Back to the hotel. I had room 601, double sea view at $16 per night. There is definitely a nice view, but the area right in front of the hotel is undergoing a landfill operation, a bit ugly, so just look beyond and to the sea. The hotel sits next to a primary school, which is especially noise from 5am to 5pm. Morning exercises directed by a distorted loudspeaker will wake you at 5am and continue until 6am, so no need for your alarm clock. Get to bed early or bring earplugs. The room was clean, with air con, fridge, wardrobe, desk, and TV (no English channels), but the bed lacked a top sheet, as so many Asian hotels seem to, so if you don't like sharing sheetless blankets with others, bring a travel sheet. The bathroom was dingy and weird, with spiders in two corners, but basically clean.Tub with no curtain, so expect to soak the floor, or perhaps i need to learn how to use that type. Staff cleaned the room between my two nights (but left the spiders), which was a nice surprise. Staff were very friendly but spoke minimal English, but in this town, what do you expect. Wifi was hit and miss. A few notes on the town of Quy Nhon: It is a very nice town, clean and friendly, but if you don't speak a bit of Vietnamese, it can be difficult to get around and get fed. Very few tourist centers exist. Taxi drivers knew less English than i knew Vietnamese. I highly recommend the staff at Barbaras Kiwi Connection. Excellent English and helpful in organizing transportation, but a 45 minute walk from My Linh Hotel.

Decent hotel, but a bit far from town

We booked to stay at this hotel for 2 nights and thank god it was only 2. 
When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist did not speak any english nor did the second or the third. So it was really difficult to check-in. Eg we even had to walk to a large hotel to book our bus to nha trang. 
The rooms are okay, but remember you do get what you pay for so it was nothing special. The bathrooms very old, and some what dirty(we were scared to use the towels). 
The location is difficult its very far from the 'city' and finding a nice place to have a meal was difficult. 
A very little percent of people in Quy Nhon speak english so it was difficult to do pretty much everything(but thats not a negative). 
However, the hotel is very close to the beach. Negatives out way positives unfortunately.

The win brooke the windows of the room, we was affraid !
And they ask money to pay the windows, they don't want to give back our passeport.
Dirty place, with many noise
