Mai House Resort

We'd highly recommend this hotel and happily stay there again. We stayed for 4 nights in late February in a superior sea view bungalow. All the rooms are individual cottages and relatively spread out in nice gardens. The best thing about this hotel is that it has the least crowded beach along this hotel strip, given that it has a wide beach frontage but only around 30 rooms, and it doesn't allow non-residents to use its beach. So the loungers aren't crammed in one next to each other like in most other places, and it is one of the quieter spots along the beach. As the quality of the day spent on the beach is the most important thing to us, this is why we recommend Mai House so highly. It is a low key and very relaxing place. There is also a large pool. Both the breakfasts and other meals at Mai House are very high quality, and they run a beach bbq in the evening sometimes. The staff are also lovely. Some may find the rooms a bit dated - the decor could use a refresh, but the room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, and the air con unit was new and very effective. So the rooms were fine enough for us and in any case we only sleep there and spend the day on the beach. So 3 star rooms but the only 5 star beach in the area!
