The area around Ninh Binh is overrun with coach tours from Hanoi in the daytime, but most of them aren't staying so the smaller choice of hotels reflects that. The Vancouver is a little family run hotel (a dozen hotel rooms) down an ally way in central Ninh Binh. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the dark wood décor is a little gloomy. Room have everything you need including AC, Wi-Fi and a fridge. Breakfast is ordered off a menu, rather than buffet, but was good quality. As you’d expect with a small hotel, there isn’t a restaurant on site, but there are plenty of places used by the locals nearby and there’s a large WinMart within walking distance. The main tourist area (the “walking street”) is about 15 minutes’ walk. There are a couple of accessibility issues to be aware off; taxis and Grabs stop on the main street not outside the hotel and the hotel itself has no lifts.
