Hanoi Legacy Hotel - Hang Bac

This small hotel in the old town is in a perfect location with everthing nearby. The staff understood and spoke English quite well which proved helpful as they were able to point us in the direction of anything we were looking for, arrange transport and advise what costs we should be paying. Nothing seemed too much trouble and I could not fault the service provided by any of the staff. We had 2 different rooms over the period we stayed and found both perfect for our requirements. Our second room was at the front of the building and although we could hear some traffic noise we did not find that it interfered with sleep as some reviews have reported. Cleanliness is my biggest priority and these rooms are very clean although perhaps the shower cubicles could do with a bit more scrubbing. A bit of soap scum on the glass and some mould on some tiles but this was only minor and nothing to cringe about. If you're looking for tours they have a tour advisor located in the lobby, same prices as elsewhere with the convenience of paying through the hotel. We booked our Halong Bay Cruise using his recommendation and we were really pleased with the boat selected to suit our budget. The hotel were happy to hold our luggage until we got back which meant we could just take an overnight bag. Ideal for those wanting to do an overnight trip to Halong or Sapa. Breakfast is only OK, variety is limited and they did not seem to replenish supplies so if you're a late riser there might not be much left although you can still order eggs or noodle soup. Would certainly book into this hotel again.
