Came here with my friends, the staff were absolutely amazing, booked tours, midnight busses and always there when/ if needed.  The hotel is exceptionally cleaned throughout the day. Within a 2 minute walking distance from the centre. Would definitely recommend 


Hey Fellow Hostelites!  I've been livin in Hanoi hostels since Sep 2016.  I must say, for the $ Capsule is the best.  Mahy other hostel have CNN, MTV working, free beer.  If that's for you -  cool.  But I like the space where I can do my yoga, the relaxed rules, the friendly staff.  No, I'm not getting a free room for saying this.  Just come and try it. Good location, easy to access for every popular places in the Old Quarter (Cathedral, Hoan Kiem Lakes, Hoa Lo Prison and even a hospital). The hostel is nice, clean and I like it when they have the curtain which provide more privacy for us. The staff is really nice especially Ngoc. She was so nice, helpful and always available for help whenever I have a question. Good value for staying when you're away from home!

Good location in the old quarter, lots of great food around, shops and beer places too. Vivid street with a lot of action in the evening. The early sleepers could be irritated for the same reason. But the heavy drinkers and/or heavy sleepers should not have a problem at all. Staff speaks above average English and can easily arrange tours, transportation or whatever you need.

Nice and clean hostel for young travelers.

Neat spot to stay in Hanoi

I am reviewing the private double room, not the dorms.  I am well travelled and not usually one to moan but I want to give people the warning I didn't have. I've stayed in many places in SE Asia, hostels included, none of which have been as grim as this. I had good expectations due to the reviews and photos on TripAdvisor however they are misleading.

PROS:
-polite and friendly staff on front desk, they organised our taxi to and from the airport and are generally quite friendly
-wifi is free and actually pretty good
-location is good, a little walk to the old quarter 
-hot water actually existed unlike some places in SE Asia
-quiet hostel not a party hostel so you could actually get some sleep (until the rooster and church bells start that is)

CONS:
-Cleanliness or rather the lack of.
The floor in our room was dirty - if you didn't keep your flip flops on you'd  have black feet 
The kitchen sink in the room had seen better days and also had a dirty old flannel left in it
The bathroom mat was dirty and wet
The bathroom itself is not laid out well. No room at all and the shower head is awkwardly above the toilet
We also had someone's underwear and swimwear left hanging in the bathroom 
The walls really need a fresh lick of paint or perhaps just a clean  
The curtain didn't fit the window
The whole room is dated, old and dusty and could have been a lot cleaner and fresher with some actual proper cleaning! 
This room has potential but it seems because it is at the very top of the building it has been forgotten about, we had a quick look in the dorms which looked better
-The room was damp and smelly.  I am not sure if this is just Hanoi in general or the hostel itself but either way we couldn't even get clothes out of our rucksack because they also became so damp. Even the toilet roll was soggy
-Towels not included, you have to rent them despite what some previous reviewers say. I can't remember the last time I had to rent a towel even in a hostel 
-4am the church bells (or some sort of bells) start to ring and then the rooster starts so there's no chance of a lay in 
- Breakfast, if you can call it that. A warm baguette with a piece of fruit which consisted of a small brown looking banana. Definitely false advertisement of "good breakfast included". Also no table to eat breakfast on if you wanted it anyway unless you want to hunch over a small coffee table
-Stairs, there's a lot of them and no lift so if you've got a heavy rucksack be warned
-Common room is a dive. Grubby old sofa to sit on with no tv, no games etc so boredom can hit 

There's a sign in reception which says if you leave a good trip advisor review throughout your stay you get a free beer. Well after staying here I believe the good reviews were perhaps not genuine but simply for the beer! 

We paid £9-£10 for this room per person per night which isn't much I know but we have had much, much better rooms at the same price before in SE Asia! I wish we'd done a bit more research before booking as there are better hostels and hotels in Hanoi even on the same street as this one.
Lucky for us our trip was a short one.
