Took the D$40,000 shuttle bus from Dalat Airport to the front of the hotel. Check in was so quick, handed over passport and went to my room. It's a 3 storey building facing a main street and park/lake.

Having lived in Vietnam this year, this hotel is your average Viet mid-range hotel. The price is under $30. In term of value for money, it's good location across from night markets; but you'd get nicer places for about $10 more. Dalat is not as heavily touristed by Westerners, so the average quality of accomodations hasn't developed to the extent that Nha Trang or Danang has.

The building and all amenities and features in the room is a bit old - but it is clean and tidy. e.g. there's cigarette burns in the sheets, but it is clean sheets.

An extra thick blanket would be nice given the colder climate in dalat. There's no air con in the building. Some of the rooms do not have windows to the outside - they have windows facing the hallway.

Breakfast was a Viet style buffet on the weekend. And on the weekday, the reception staff purposefully bought pho noodle soup for us because we asked. The receptionist many was very helpful with booking taxis and offering to buy us food we'd wanted to try.

Definitely would not recommend this hotel. The service was okay, the location is good, but the rooms are not like the photos at all. The bathroom (mainly the toilet) smelt horrible, the toilet hadn't been cleaned. The shower was broken and there was mould lining the ceiling. The hotel felt quite unsafe also, outside our room there was a deck that was accessible via a door that wasn't in our room. The locks were also a bit dodgy. There was no air con in the building either, not that Da Lat is overly hot anyway. If you are thinking about staying at Nam Nguyen I would highly recommend paying just a bit more for a better, safer place.
