My wife and I stayed 4 nights in this hotel that I can really recommend. We had a twin room for about 12$ that was very big, clean, with big balcony and big beds, tv, ac, fun and a big bathroom with hot water 24h (that is something you can't find easily in Vietnam). The staff is helpful and speak english, they are also agent of a good bus company (also this is something not easy to find in Vietnam). The hotel is located just a few meter from the riverfront, close to bars, restaurants and all touristic attractions in Can Tho.

We have stayed here twice in quick succession. I believe that the hotel only opened in September 2009 and so everything is sparkling new, the light switches and sockets still have a protective film covering over them.

Rooms range from 160,000 to 240,000 Dong per night depending on location and number of beds. A lot of the rooms are internal only with no window and you have to pay 220,000 to get one of the rooms at the front with a communal balcony. Beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly but there is very little English spoken. There is a fridge and TV with plenty of channels but no safe. The hotel is not on the road overlooking the river but on a small sidestreet, less than 1 minutes walk away. There are some shops in this street that operate as vegetable wholesalers or distributors. Business kicks off at around 4am and although the noise level was pretty good considering the nations love of motorcycle horns and shouting, it is something that you might want to consider.

The only thing that stops me from giving the hotel full marks is the cleaning policy (or lack of it). It seems to me that the room is only cleaned when you ask for it to be done and not as a matter of course. More than once I went out for the whole day and returned to find the room untouched. Leaving the "Please make up room" sign outside made no difference. I don't know if this is due to laziness or hotel policy. The main reason for wanting the room cleaned was to get new towels because the bathrooms are all internal and with no fan so the towels stay wet and get smelly very quickly.
The only other thing that would make the rooms a bit better would be the addition of a couple of chairs.

Overall the combination of price, location and quality make this hotel good value for Can Tho.

Brand New Hotel - Excellent Location

Quite good value ($12US for a very large room with 2 comfortable double beds, desk and stool, ensuite bathroom, and shared small balcony). 

The room was clean although the stairwells and hallways were a bit dirty (I saw what looked like mouse or rat droppings in one of the stairwells. I'm not surprised that mice or rats sometimes come into the building - I saw tonnes of them in the parkland by the waterfront, which is only a stone's throw from the hotel - but I was surprised that staff didn't clean them up before guests saw them). Never saw any signs of vermin in my room, though.

No hot water was available either morning (I stayed 2 nights but I don't know if there is not hot water at all in the hotel, or if it was just broken/unavailable in my room). 

Staff doesn't speak much English but will try to help (with a phrase book and some miming, I managed to sort out what I needed), and although the immediately tried to flog me a boat trip when I first arrived, once I said no thanks, they never mentioned it again.

No wifi (unusual for most places I stayed in Vietnam).

There's a fridge in the room, but the power only works when your key is in the slot by the door, so every time you come in from a long, hot day, all your drinks are room temperature.

Location is good – a quiet side street near the waterfront, and close to the excellent Hop Pho Cafe (with terrific drinks, good inexpensive food, free wifi, and nice staff. I went there 3 times in 2 days).

Decent value place to lay your head, if a bit lacking in amenities

We stayed here for one night. The room was not very clean, it was dusty. No muscito's or roaches though. Staff is not very helpfull, neither friendly. It was OK for one night.
