Muy bien! I really enjoyed my stay here. Although there were not many other backpackers (because its winter), we still had a brilliant time. Cesar, Lua, Tina, Raquel..you are all beautiful people, very warm and welcoming. Cesar is a legend! Really good vibe, good location, very chilled and loving life!

Hot showers, felt and was safe, and staff were friendly. Sopa, the dog, was very awesome too.

If you are looking for a place with a character, a place to find new wonderful friends, a place to have fun, a place that feel more like a home and a part of a big amazing family then in an ordinary sterile holiday accomodation, a place where you can feel the fascinating mixture of Uruguay culture and travellers from all over the world at its best, Unplugged is a place for you!!!
Unplugged hostel is a place I loved since the moment I stepped through the gate to its flowery patio, a place I have been always happy to come back to, a place where I found the most amazing friends from all over the world I still keep in touch with, a place filled with the wonderful memories and precious moments...
Being at Unplugged never felt like being in a ordinary hostel, all the staff and their friends always made sure I feel welcome and at home and as a part of a family, they were always happy to help and we so generous to me. The place has a unique charisma, which sets it apart from other hostels in Montevieo, it bears marks of the wonderful people who passed through, with grafittis, paintings, poems and many many flags of travellers who passed by.
I must say one of the main reasons I love Ungplugged so much, why I stayed so long and was always eager to come back is the dog Sopita, a traumatized street dog which the owners rescued and with loving care transformed into the most loving, sweet and educated companion.
The Unplugged Hostel have an excellent location, in a safe and beautiful Barrio of Pocitos, short walking distance from the beach, nice restaurants, the mall and all the conveniences.
Some of the things are learned in Uruguay, and especially in Unplugged, is how to be "tranki", how to drink mate properly and just enjoy life without stressing to much (for which i'm immensely grateful :D ) there was always so much happenning in Unplugged. Part of the hostel is a quirki bar which hosted a lot of events, from various music concerts, to alternative movie nights, to delicious pizza or quiso nights or even being converted into a tatoo parlour.
As I mentioned earlier Unplugged is a place where I so many of my most precious and longlasting friendships started, like in no other hostel I have ever stayed and amazing moments I shall charrish for ever, I simply love the Unplugged!!! <3

I lived there for a month and a half last year !
That was fantastic ! My fist home in Uruguay ( I lived there for a year).
The people are lovely, the place is very beautiful, the neighbourhood is nice, you have everything that you need near by.
I came back to Uruguay for a month this year, not in Montevideo, but I still went to the hostel for a little week end, still feels like home !

Worst hostel I've been! There is mold in most of the walls, smells bad, seems like they don't wash sheets and pillows, there was dirt on the floor and lockers, kitchen was weird and washrooms were dirty. Staff is good, nothing bad to say about them, but the place in general is not good at all! You can get better for a few dollars less in the same area!

I do not recommend this place!

Not clean and no shower. Terrible experience. It had nothing to do with the photos and reviews. Not recommended at all for someone who wants to take a good shower or just laying a bit to rest. And had no breakfast.
