The staff was fantastic and friendly. They greeted with a smile and catered to any needs. From the check in to the check out everything was great. Clean spacious hotel rooms. Great price and welcoming faces. 

This hotel offers friendly, competent front desk people. To me, that is where a good stay starts. The room, as well as the employees, make this hotel a great bang for the buck. If you work with Carolyn at the desk, you’ll be happy. 

We were in Anchorage for my husband had surgery. They were very helpful especially with all the Covid-19 stuff going on. Things were a bit limited but they went out of their way to be helpful. My husband couldn't lift more than 2 lbs and one of the young men helped me load my vehicle. We have already booked our reservation for his followup appointment in 2 weeks.

Great hotel for business or family purpose. They let me check in early to complete a business video conference which was a great benefit. Rooms were clean and staff were very friendly. Great central location to get anywhere without traveling to far. Price was very reasonable for what you get. We enjoyed the hotel enough to book an extra room the 2nd night when my boys finished their ball games so we could all go out and enjoy Anchorage together instead of them riding the bus home.

Very nice very clean, beds are nice neat and clean, has all of the essentials free wifi and very good variety of tv one of my favorite things I hate it when u only get news channels. 
They have a very nice Restaurant surves breakfast lunch and dinner,they surve fresh salmon and other sea food as well as steak and so much more everything is very delicious. 
It's definitely one of my top picks in town! 
I would recommend this hotel they are in walking distance of a park big store's and restraints.
Most of all the staff is very friendly and helpful!

My wife Adele and I find ourselves traveling to Anchorage for medical reasons often so we always stay at the Best Western Golden Lion Hotel. While we have a choice of many hotels we find that this hotel provides excellent service, it is clean, and it has a business center and exercise room. If there is ever an issue with the room, the front end staff have someone to solve the issue quickly. We have always enjoyed our stay!

Great location,clean very helpful. Very friendly staff  me and my family will definatly stay here again in the future have to try biscuits and gravy weve eaten at a lot of breakfast places in town over the years and best western golden by far still the best thank u best western 

I was one of the last quests in this hotel, as it is closing to become a residential shelter for the homeless. In spite of the closing, the service was good and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and attentive.

I really liked this place and our spacious room.  Management supplied wall units of hand sanitizer all over the hotel.

My only negative comment is there were 3 packs of coffee in the room, 1 regular and 2 decafs.  I went down to the lobby and asked if I could exchange 1 pack of decaf for regular and the clerk said no.  She told me if I wanted another regular coffee I would have to go to the restaurant and buy a cup of coffee. I was shocked to hear her response.  As petty as that may sound, I was scheduled to stay 2 nights but I cancelled the 2nd night based on the principal of her saying that. If that was their service policy then I did not want to give them my money for a 2nd night.

I am hoping a manager reads this and does better customer service training to the front desk clerks.

Though the hallways seemed a bit dark, rooms were roomy. Bathroom door barely had clearance. Biggest negative was that hot water took forever to get to the faucets.
Very clean, everything worked well. Not budget but still affordable.

I really enjoyed this hotel.  The staff was very friendly and helped make the stay nice.  The room I had was spacious and very comfortable.  There were several dining options in the area as well.  My room had a mini refrigerator, large bathroom, extra seating and a nice size desk.  The hotel seemed very quiet.

Clean, Comfortable with a friendly staff

...but its a great hotel for a good price.  Office staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, bed slept well and it was everything we needed. Located very well - near to good restaurants & shopping, major thoroughfares and highways for quick access to anywhere in Anchorage.  If you're looking for a fancy shmancy 5 Star hotel and the price that comes with it, this hotel ain't it.  But if you're looking for a very good, basic. clean hotel at a good price,  this is it.
