We had booked a stay at The Admiral Nelson but received a text advising our booking had been relocated to Dovecote House. Initially we were sceptical with a quick google search showing it as being closed and in administration! However our concerns were immediately responded to by Nelson, who we understand has recently taken over ownership of the property! We arrived a little early but our room was prepared for us to get changed before we headed out and the room prep had been completed fully on our return. The room was clean and we had a comfy bed! All we needed for our one night break. We parked close by on a track - about 2-3 minutes walk from the house. Nelson was a friendly host who ensured we had everything we needed and everything was Ok. There were some nice touches with shower gels, shampoo etc in the bathroom. Great location close to York, £5 in an Uber into the centre of York and £9 home as we returned late on.
