The Old Forge B&b

We stayed for 3 nights and Ruth and Paul could not have been more helpful.The accommodation is located in a picturesque village and is well maintained and spotless. Breakfast is also excellent with eggs fresh from the chickens out back and plenty for anyone to start the day.  We were supplied with tea on the lawn and torches when going out in the evening plus lots of advice on suitable places to visit and to go for meals. Of which there are plenty of both.

We were in this part of the world for a family wedding, our reception my Ruth and Paul could not have been given a  warmer welcome. We were made to feel as if we were visiting friends, taking tea on the lawn and loads of helpful advice. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast so generous and thanks to BB for my eggs (one of their hens).
If we are in the area again well be back.

We stayed for 2 Nights at the Old Forge last weekend whilst attending a Friends' Wedding. I have never stayed in a B+B before, preferring big Hotels, so did not know what to expect.
I shouldn't have worried, we had a fantastic experience.
The accommodation was perfect, exactly what you would expect from an old Forge. The room was really well equipped and the whole building charmingly decorated and finished. Lots of character with all the mod cons, set in a beautiful garden. 
The breakfast was also really special. Eggs from Marjorie, one of the chickens who resided in the garden, locally sourced Black Pudding from a nearby Country Estate and delicious home made fruit salad bursting with seasonal flavour. I have a Hotel Industry background and have never had a breakfast to beat the one from the Old Forge.
What really made the whole stay for us, though, was the hospitality of the Proprietors, Paul and Ruth. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome throughout our whole stay. Paul even gave us a lift to the wedding venue on the Sunday morning to pick up our car. We left a mobile phone charger in our room and Ruth posted it without us even asking her to. 
To me,  the Old Forge has all the elements of the perfect B+B. We really enjoyed our stay and will definatley return. Be it for Business or pleasure, The Old Forge is 100% worth a stay.
