What a beautiful property Henwick House is to stay, I organised our family reunion to Henwick House from Australia, Dawn couldn’t have been more helpful, a couple of hiccups and we were booked. Upon arriving we were delighted to find rooms that were clean and well sized. Having 15 family members stay together for a week can be hard but the layout of HH was perfect, we were not on top of each other and had plenty of areas we could sit and relax in.

The gardens were perfect for the 4 teenagers we had who spent most of their days out there together enjoying the glorious weather.  They also enjoyed the array of videos available to them.

Dawn was prompt and efficient with queries, nothing was too much trouble.  

Beautiful property on beautiful grounds, within a wonderful village.   Thank you our family reunion was lovely.

Family Reunion

The property description is as is. The lists are endless on expectations of visitors behaviour - a sign that if the rules were not adhered to there would be consequences!  There were - despite being mindful in looking after the property - we got the hint! After a lovey few days stay we were wrongly accused of not looking after the jacuzzi. But we had to challenge the accusation which was very upsetting, time consuming and left a nasty taste. Should you stay in this property I’d recommend you take photos of everything before and after your stay. Sadly although the decision went in our favour I’ll be very mindful of reading reviews more carefully as it appears we’re not the first.  I rarely write reviews but on this occasion I felt compelled to warn potential visitors.

Booked the whole house through Airbnb for weekend family holiday. We did have a fabulous time. The bedrooms were lovely and we gave a glowing review after our departure. However! We have since been accused by the host of trashing the house and leaving it in a terrible state. The accusations are totally exaggerated and unfair. We have stayed together in many rented accommodations and always been respectful and never had any complaints. Apparently we “discarded” the visitor book and never even opened it. Have no idea what is meant by this accusation.  Sorry we didn’t write in the book but as a very close family who live in different parts of the country our time together is far too precious and we simply didn’t have the time. In short , if you are thinking of booking this house please be aware. The owners are happy to take your money but they certainly don’t want you to have a good time. Please take time to read previous reviews stating the total lack of hospitality.

Beware!!!

basically reading through past reviews thought I'd add my own. The  house is very nice though more suited to be a Bed and breakfast rather than a let in my opinion. There are plenty of bedrooms all en-suite but the communal sitting rooms are inadequate if you have hired the house and expect to be able to seat all together in the evening. The little lane from the main road that you need to take to access the property is not tarmac'd and is very poorly maintained & uneven and probably unsuitable for sports cars etc There are instructions pasted on almost every surface in every room which generates a very unwelcoming atmosphere.

In short I personally wouldn't return whilst the existing management run the place who clearly are very eager to take your money but not so eager to let their clients enjoy the facilities as most reasonable folk do

I wouldn't bother

We came here for a family getaway, the house is wonderful and has a lovely surrounding area. Within the property there were ridiculous amounts of instructions all around the house giving us the impression we weren’t welcome. We were ‘greeted’ by Dawn the owner... I suggest she changes her direction in life as she is absolutely not a people person and clearly isn’t suited for the industry she is in. Beautiful house but an extremely hostile and unwelcoming atmosphere!!

Beautiful place, awful land lady

I will start by saying the house and grounds are simply beautiful and great for large family’s. 
That’s where the positives stop. 
Dawn in most unwelcoming - scary could be one way of putting it. A small fortune is spent to stay here for a weekend, why should the guests to made to feel like they are constantly walking on egg shells; there are signs, labels and instructions for just about everything. This is suppose to be a holiday! 
On leaving the property at the early time of 10am check out Dawn was already present waiting from 9.45. She was rude to one of the guests who had informed her the bedroom keys had been placed in the kitchen, she replied with ‘well they should be left in the bedrooms I have a lot of work to do’ - maybe another instruction to add to your book Dawn? 
This is the kind of business where people skills should be paramount, Dawn lacks this entirely. 
Wouldn’t recommend to stay.
