The Endeavour

A cosy room above a friendly and welcoming pub. We just stayed and had a lovely nights sleep. Everyone was really helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. 

The pub itself is one of the best in Whitby, especially in winter with the lovely open fire and great value on drinks.

Lovely 2 night stay just what we needed! Stayed in room 1 with a lovely harbour view. Clean and comfortable. Supplies for tea coffee toilet roll and soap on the landing to help yourself to when supplies are low. Room had big tv, kettle, tea, coffee, wagon wheel biscuits, crisps and bottles of water.....lovely touch. Good shower and lovely big towels. 
Bar very traditional and has an open fire. Tried the pork pie..very tasty. Loved how dog friendly the pub is! Plenty of cafes nearby for breakfast. Perfect location. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great value for money with little extras and a warm welcome. We hope to return 

Me and my husband stayed for 1 night on a thursday night. Communication with the owener through email was excellent. We arrived and stayed in room 2 ,harbour view  large double. On entering the room the first thing i noticed was the bed and how lovely and clean the white bedding was. The whole room was spotless.the bathroom was the same spotlesley clean with lovely white towels. We have stayed in a lot of bed and breakfast in whitby and this is our new favourite.the room was lovely and quiet and the bed was comfy so we slept really well. We will definately return to this lovely place.

It’s just a wonderful pub to go, be part of. Relax & enjoy some company or even just as a couple.
The concept is magical that you can go two doors up and bring your own chippy tea in whilst you sit in front of the fire listening to chit chat or live music at weekends.
Staff are so lovely also and really welcoming.
Dog friendly too which makes it even more special

Stayed for two nights in this great little pub, clean room and bed was really comfortable.

No breakfast avaliable but it's in the heart of whitby and plenty of places to go to. Great view of the harbour and lovely staff too

Great location. Room was ready early that was much appreciated.
The room was clean and warm  tea , coffee and biscuits are a nice touch.
A fine singer performed Saturday night , it was packed everybody had a good time.
All the staff were very friendly and the dog was made very welcome will stay again.

Great atmosphere,quality wines,friendly staff,nice choice of cocktails and a seafood platter to die for,dog friendly and a fab singer every Saturday afternoon,supporters on the RNLI..raffle tickets to buy and suprise bags..Great quotes on the beams also.

Nice little pub. We called in for drinks, landlord is very friendly and personable. We would have eaten as there is a good menu, very reasonably priced but everything was sold out (what a good recommendation for a pub)! You can take your own fish and chips into the pub if you want to. Beer was very good too. Recommended.

When we are in Whitby we always go to the endeavour it's our favourite pub. Was surprised no longer table service but it didn't make any difference still as friendly and welcoming. Lovely open fire as it was a bit chilly. Good selection of beers wines gins etc. Still got to have the seafood platter this visit really nice .

This was our third stay at this lovely pub. It is very central and the rooms are well appointed and clean what more could you ask for. All the staff we met were friendly and approachable.
The Endeavour is our favourite place to stay in Whitby.

Great place 

Spotless

When I booked this accommodation. I knew it was a small room over a pub, (one of four.) It doesn't serve breakfast and has no parking included. However it was by far one of the cheapest places to stay in the middle of Whitby. So I wasn't expecting much. 

How wrong was I? Well first of all the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room is spotlessly clean, and even though decor is dated its freshly painted with new curtains, a large TV, new carpets, large modern bathroom and lovely shower. The bedding and towels are very good quality too. 
I loved how they leave loads of tea and coffee and snacks available on the landing for you to help yourself to. Was a nice touch. 
We did have an issue parking as the car park opposite was full being a regatta weekend, but we parked up near the Abbey and walked down. To be expected when the town was so busy, and no fault of the pub. 

The pub itself has a lovely warm atmosphere. I did wonder if we would be kept awake by noise. Not at all, even when the pub is busy you can't really hear anything upstairs and it closes quite early even on a Saturday evening. Everywhere in Whitby does though. 

My one only criticism would be, the bed frame is too big for this room,  it's difficult to move about and we banged ourselves serveral times. A standard devan would fix this issue and give extra space. This was the reason on 4 stars. 

I would 100% stay here again, and highly recommend other travellers to give it a try.

Exceeded expectations 

Just love the place

Stayed here at The Endeavour in Whitby for a night , room was lovely and clean and so was the bathroom , only down side , you couldn’t access the bathroom from the bedroom ( Room No 4) it was attached to the bedroom but you had to walk out on the landing then put a number code in the door lock to get in , not great at 3am in the morning , shame really as everything else was lovely.
The bathroom was newly done so why they didn’t cut the wall out and put the door in the bedroom I don’t know ,maybe the cost as it was possible to do it , my wife wasn’t happy about it that’s for sure .

Great wee pub with a decent choice of real ales and gins. Friendly table service in the bar, and a good atmosphere.
They don't serve hot food, but you can go next door to the excellent chippy, and bring it in. They will give you salt and vinegar and cutlery.
Dogs are allowed and good ones get treats😁

Crackin' Wee Pub

Great place to stay.  Our room was immaculately clean and had everything needed for a pleasant stay.  There are also a few little extras  available that add a nice touch. (such as hot chocolate, chocolate biscuits, crisps and bottled water.
The shower was great and the bed comfy.

Things to know before you book:
- There is a car park opposite which is reasonably priced, costs £9 for 24 hours. 
- The hotel is literally in a superb location, 2 minutes walk from the old town.  If you plan on seeing Whitby then you simply do not need your car as everything is within easy walking distance.
- There is no breakfast available but there are many restaurants and cafes close by.

So if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in a great location then The Endeavour is your place!
