Fantastic place. Amazing location, very clean, an amazing breakfast and wonderful service from start to finish.

Great service checking in and throughout the evening at the bar Adam was great

Lovely comfortable room overlooking the harbour. Great location. Parking space found in nearby carpark at 4pm.

Quick & easy check in, friendly helpful staff. Our room, 3, was spacious, comfortable with a lovely view. Excellent breakfast. Hope to return, would highly recommend the Dolphin.😊

We celebrated our wedding whilst staying here on our honeymoon it was so comfortable food was really nice good choice for breakfast and staff couldn't do enough would definitely recommend 😊

Had a lovely 2 nights at the dolphin hotel with a lovely view of the water. The staff was amazing & locked our key in the room by accident and couldn't find spare key but they called a locksmith who got us back in. The hotel is lovely and food is amazing. Will definitely stay here again. Wish we had longer.

Stayed overnight last Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed it . Right from arrival we felt at home  We were greeted by Owen who was friendly and efficient . 
The room (5) was very nice and comfortable.  We went down for breakfast and Julie was so lovely and attentive and so very friendly .
We will definitely be back .

Excellent base for a visit to Whitby and surrounding area. We were two couples making another of many visits to Yorkshire but not to Whitby before. It's a lovely town, plenty of charm and history and spectacular views of the North Sea coast. The staff at the Dolphin were great and were very helpful with suggestions on places to go and see. Special thanks to Tom, who welcomed us on our arrival. The breakfast was also worthy of special mention.

Another lovely stay at The Dolphin (as always!)-Room 2 has the most amazing views over the harbour & it is lovely to just sit at the window (preferably with a glass of wine to hand! lol) & just "people watch"
Lovely comfortable bed & an excellent freshly cooked breakfast is provided every morning accompanied with fruit juice, yoghurt & fresh pastries etc.
Hosts Sim & Gary really make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive as did all the lovely staff in fact (in contrast to one or two recent reviews suggesting otherwise) as that was most certainly not our experience when staying at The Dolphin!

A lovely Stay-As always!

The venue is ideally situated for your visit to Whitby. The hotel is family run, the staff are both friendly and helpful, and despite the rooms being above a busy bar you did not get disturbed. Therefore, I would thoroughly recommend staying there and will definitely re-book when visiting Whitby again.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Dolphin!  This was a clean, cozy, friendly family run inn over a cute pub.  It was so quiet in our room, which had a harbor view.Our stay was just lovely and romantic .  The owners and staff were so warm and friendly, and the included breakfast was great .  Overall just a warm and welcoming place!

Amazing stay..staff lovely and good breakfast.. the location was central to everywhere and views were fantastic.  The pub gets very busy showing its popularity.  The room was great very spacious with everything one needs. The bed was a little weird and felt uneven but didn't stop us sleeping after busy days exploring the area.If theres any criticism its having no plugs near the bed to plug phones or fan in but i would definitely stay here if visiting the area again..thank you to the staff for being so friendly

We absolutely loved this hotel. We were more than happy with all aspects - the room was lovely, the staff is amazing and wonderfully friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The pub itself is charming with excellent pub food.The location is also perfect - walkable from train station, on the water and close to all the sites. Stay here, you will not regret it!

We had a lovely stay here. Check-in was easy, even thought the bar was very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Our room (number 5) was spotless, the bed very comfortable and pillows were great. We liked the way they did it, not coming into the rooms whilst you stay. Instead, they asked you at breakfast if anything needed replenishing (bottled water, tea or coffee bags, loo roll, etc.) and it would be left outside your room for you. Breakfast was plentiful and very good quality. We had pie and chips in the bar and it was very good. 
The pub was situated right at the centre of the town, on the estuary, great views from the hotel. Perfectly situated for shops, sightseeing, etc. 
Best of all though, the management and staff were all lovely and made us feel very much at home. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone I know.

A Great Stay

Great hotel, lovely helpful staff, not a modern furnished/decorated hotel but that for me holds the charm if I had to be really picky you could say it’s a bit dated. However, I really enjoyed my stay a comfy bed and a great shower, nice big harbour facing room and the breakfast was amazing I would definitely go back
