Stayed here for one night after attending a wedding. Really lovely people who looked after us. Rooms were small but comfortable and well equipped. There’s plenty of parking. We had a great breakfast made to order which was delicious.

I brought my two sons here to eat this evening. Hayley and the team made us feel extremely welcome. There is a good atmosphere and the pub was quite busy. The food was well prepared, cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Reasonable prices and a good find. Give it a go, and you won’t be disappointed. We will certainly be returning.

From a very warm welcome from Danny and is staff, the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable, I would recommend it to anybody if you are in the Wetherby area to book with confidence we need to support local business,many thanks Danny.

A delightful couple of hours spent in the Swan and Talbot. We found the menu had something for everyone, including a pretty good vegan selection. The meals all arrived promptly and together. The traditional English pub atmosphere and good choice of ale hits the spot. 😀

Hubby grew up in Wetherby and as we were up north for the Knaresborough Christmas Market decided to over night here.  Not sure where these other reviews have come from but our experience was very good.  The manageress welcomed us on arrival and explained times for dinner and breakfast, then we went up to our room obviously newly refurbished, comfortable bed with a lovely furry comforter on it, clean white linen and towels.  Unfortunately there was a problem with the TV but the manageress kindly loaned us her NOW TV box which saved the day.  Slept very well.  Had dinner in the restaurant great value pub food unpretentious and well prepared everything was hot as it should be.  two courses and a bottle of Merlot £30 about the same was we paid the previous night in Wetherspoons but the quality of the good much better here.  Breakfast in the morning, good and hot plenty of it with good quality bacon well cooked again.  Obviously this does not pretend to be a gastro pub nor does it charge gastro pub prices, but for warm hospitality, comfortable rooms and decent pub food excellent.  Free car parking a bonus having just spent £2.60 an hour to park in York.  Will return if in the area.

My pal and I popped in for a pint en route to a curry on a Friday eve. Previously it’s been a bit quiet in there but the place was nicely full creating a great pub atmosphere. The live music was first class too. We came back after the curry as it was perfect in there. 

One of the oldest buildings in wetherby built in 1611, a friendly public house, with a Restaurant & fairly good menu. this establishment has just had a refit (2019) easy parking at the rear of the building.  

Stayed here for a night with my mother. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. My mother asked for an omelette, not a menu item and it was not an issue at all.
The food was delicious and the menu was varied. really good beer, wine and gin selection as well.

We stayed for the night, the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. They were a little tired and in need of some touching up in places.

Overall a really great place 

what lovely  staff  helpful  so kind   had a lovely  room  number 2  very clean  floor  boards creak    but  what  do you expect   after 400yrs      pub   food   is   great  good menu   for  all  (((( if  your  a  Coeliac    ::;:::  Gluten  Free  ))))  there's   also a 

good selection   of food    nothing was to much trouble for ( Ben  the  Manager  )( who  takes care of  all  his   customers    and   staff  I   felt   very safe   during  our 
 stay  {{ Corvid }}}        went  above  and   beyond       Free  WI-FI    good   signall

    husband  and  I    wish  them all the   look in the world    during   these   difficult  times         can not thank you  all enough

We stayed here in the old tradition of a coaching house breaking a journey to Scotland for the night. the Covid measures in place were well observed and in place making us feel comfortable and safe. The room was clean and met expectations and we had a good nights sleep (no doubt helped with the closing time restrictions!). We also ate in the Bar and found the food very good value and to a expected standard, and with everybody spread out and observing distancing we spent what was actually our first eating out experience since lockdown as a positive experiance. This was enhanced by the staff who for both the evening meal and breakfast counldn´t have been more friendly, helpful and perfect hosts. Would be happy to visit again.

Short but pleasant stay

It was ok, but we were there mid management change. Which showed.
The big annoyance was that they don’t take Scottish money. So much for “in it together”. Would give it another try after new management has settled in

Scottish money is not welcomed

So is this pub under new management? If so well done.It is cleaner and although we have not tried the food again after recent disasters there looks to be a massive improvement in standards. No ridiculous loud rubbish music. Keep up good work and we may chance some food. Hopefully the chef turns up when we order

Checked in.room small but clean had booked double bed but it was more like large single. No toilet roll. Asked girl on bar who went in men's and women's toilet no toilet roll. Eventually appeared with 1.🤪🤪night spent with us each hanging on side of bed. Breakfast.!!!! Given menu.asked for salmon.came back no salmon.ok poached egg on toast pls. After 15 minutes 2 cold hard eggs on cold triangles of toast.my partners cooked breakfast was warm.to add insult to injury elderly gentleman nearby told us he had had a king size bed and was on his own.😱😱😱 won't be rushing back.
