Absolutely lovely place to stay. Bill is a lovely host and makes a cra king breakfast. Rooms and all areas are really clean and welcoming, bed is comfy and there is everythi.g you need for a stay away. Short walk to Whitby pavillion, pubs, cafes and restaurants and 10 minutes wander to the centre. Thoroughly recommend.

Second time we have been here and we will definitely be back cannot fault anything. Good spot to walk into town good parking and a cracking breakfast .

I've stayed at Argyle House twice now, the first time with friends and a second time with my partner. 

Bills guesthouse is wonderful! The beds are super comfortable, the interior of the rooms are amazing and quirky and Bill is a fantastic host. 

He was flexible with check in letting us check in nice and early with out bags ensuring we could spend the day walking around whitby. 

I would recommend Argyle House to anyone and I will definitely be back! Thank you Bill.

Excellent location, near to beach and town. Quiet neighbourhood. Very warm welcome from friendly and helpful hosts. Clean and comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Excellent facilities.  Lovely home cooked breakfast. Free street parking. Highly recommended.

Bill was a great host and the property itself is in a quiet location in good walking distance of the sea views and the shops/restaurants. Room was a good size and breakfast was very tasty and included in the price which isn’t always the case! Would highly recommend.

Excellent location. We chose attic room no. 8 for the view of the Abbey but not quite as expected! Bill did say the room would be redecorated shortly which it needed. Curtains and roof window blind also need replacing as not fitted properly. Thoughroom was warm with hot water and clean towels and bedding. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent service from Bill who was knowledgeable of the area and very hospitable. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Bill couldn’t do enough for you. We had a 2 night stay 6th and 7th September. As always with whitby, the weather was unpredictable. Of cause we made the most of it but the time spent at Argyle was spotless, comfy and cozy. We had the the family room which was brilliant far better than just a bed in our room. We have a 13 year old daughter and we had a room next to a room but they were together which was connected together with a bolted door leading out to the landing. We could keep our doors open but keep the out door bolted at night. Brilliant idea if your child wants a little bit of privacy.  The breakfasts were delicious and lots of choice.Will definitely be staying here again that’s for sure 👍 😊

Stayed two nights and Bill (owner) could not do more to help. We have stayed at a range of places in Whitby over the years and the owner was top of the pops for kindness and consideration. Had a long chat one morning, which is appreciated when you understand how busy they must be and makes you feel valued. Room had lots of nice touches and in a good location. Would 100% recommend.

July stay

The most important thing, that matters to me, is the welcome you received when walking through the door for the first time, and you know what, it was great, it's just like meeting up with a old friend, nothing was too much trouble, even breakfast was tailored to your person taste, the room had everything we needed and quite a few little extras, this was our first visit, but it's not going to be the last, a,marvellous hotel and a really very special host,

Me and my Son stayed at Argyle house for three days 5th-7th August
The B&B was really nice, very clean too. The host Billy and his staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were lovely. Lots to do there and only being about 5 minutes from the town centre and  a couple of minutes from the sea front at West cliff.
I would definitely recommend Argyle House to anyone visiting Whitby.

Nice friendly staff we had attic room very spacious and comfortable bed with an excellent breakfast with both cereals and a hearty cooked breakfast and the owner was just so helpful, the Accommodation is at the top end so a walk down hill to most of what Whitby has to offer but a few local pubs not very far from the accommodation and I'll definitely be stopping again when I plan to visit Whitby again 👌

What a great place to stay, our host was superb and couldnt do enough for us. The room was clean and tidy with an ensuite. Breakfast had ample choices for those who have different tastes, was fresh and cooked to perfection. The location was ideal for us and a 10 minute walk to the harbour, of note there is a hill to climb for those not able to get around as well. Would definitely stay again.

We couldn't fault our 2 nights stay, the owner couldn't do enough for us, room was very clean, the breakfast was exceptional full English breakfast and wasn’t greasy at all, we had the room on first floor with the bay window at the front plenty of room to walk round in, we will definitely be booking again and recommend this hotel to our friends and family, thank you for a lovely 2 nights we spent hear.
