As per the subject line, a perfectly idyllic and very relaxing B&B retreat - spotlessly clean and spiritually calming. Deirdre is the most welcoming owner, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Her charming hospitality, lovely food and expert knowledge of the local area wonderfully complimented my stay. Highly recommended.


Deidre was an excellent host, with a special mention to her unique breakfasts. Lots of options other than just the standard full English. I loved my veggie kedgeree with halloumi - really set me up for the day's activities. Upmarket bathroom products too, the Bramley set was a nice touch.

We returned home yesterday after a lovely stay in Steeple View. Deidre, the owner, was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for her.
Our room was very comfortable, especially the bed, we were overlooking the garden so it was very quiet.
We enjoyed our breakfasts every morning as there was plenty of choice, 
In the room there were lovely bathroom products and I was able to purchase the hand cream/body lotion.

Stayed 2 nights in this beautiful b&b. Tastefully decorated, clean and homely made this a really great place to stay and visit the local area. Deidre was so welcoming and friendly, making it feel like a home from home experience. Great selection of teas too! 

As we were arriving late, we had arranged with Deidre to keep her updated on our travel to Wales - communication was easy and flexible. On arrival Deirdre and Leo the dog welcomed us into the warmth. It was friendly and personal, it was as if we were friends visiting her home. Parking was easily sort and because it was late Deirdre was very considerate to ask if we have had food and if we needed anything. She's not obliged to provide us with dinner (maybe if we said yes she might have directed us to a nearby restaurant) but the fact that she cared made us feel looked after and gives the whole experience a very personal touch. Deirdre didn't mind staying up for a chat, over wine!! It helped get us settled in, really friendly and lovely. The double room we stayed in was comfortable, quiet and cosy, the shower was good, and if we weren't on business I would have loved to stay in bed longer. A continental breakfast was ready for us early in the morning and because the weather was brilliant, Deirdre gave us some directions around Newport to see the beach and the bridge, a little respite before our work - which was definitely worth it! We only stayed for one night and it was a business trip but we would love to go back for a proper holiday. Deirdre and little Leo have made Steeple View a very wonderful place to stay!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Steeple View. Deidre was so welcoming and kind in every way. Our room was lovely and quiet with a view of the church. The king size bed was so comfortable and we slept really well. What a fantastic b+b.

Deidre proved to be a very solicitous owner; friendly, welcoming and with a wealth of local knowledge. The bed was blissfully comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the location is quiet, yet very convenient. Great shower too; really powerful.

A wonderfully quirky written message greeted us upon our arrival which made us smile. Our host Diedre and her little dog Leo soon greeted us with warmth and friendliness, and that's how we would describe our stay at Steeple View.
It is superbly located just 50 meters away from the busy main road so it is very quiet and restful, and right in the middle of everything.
Corporate it is not, but if you like homeliness and charm then Steeple View is for you..as it was for us.


We were walking the coastal path and arrived drenched. Deidre kindly dried clothes, hung jackets by the Rayburn put the heating on and sorted us out. Comfortable room with great shower and lovely organic eggs for breakfast. Recommended.

Got a late booking as I was walking the Coast Path. Made welcome and shown to a very pleasant room in the roof space. The ensuite bathroom was very well appointed and worked very well. 
Breakfast was not available for me due to my late arrival and the rate was reduced accordingly. I was directed to a cafe nearby and told that it opened at 0830. In fact on arrival I found it opened at 0900 and I was worried that my schedule would be thrown out by that. Luckily the owner of the cafe opened specially for me and I got a great breakfast.
