Really enjoyed the central location of this hotel to access the busy High Street, beach, pier, bars and restaurants.

We had such a an amazing stay.  Very warm welcome and a wonderful, spacious and exceptionally comfortable room.  The bed was probably one of the best I have ever slept in.  The bathroom was delightful. 

Apart from the hotel being so comfortable and luxurious, breakfast was amazing - a very creative and talented chef.  We didn't have dinner but would do if we stayed again. We also love the games and reading room.  

What makes this hotel even more special is its amazing staff.  We were made so welcome by the receptionist and the lovely breakfast waitress. Both are such an asset to the hospitality business. 

Will we return -one thousand per cent. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience. 

An ideally located Hotel in the middle of Southwold, with a lovely warm Adams welcome. Spacious rooms (deluxe double) a great breakfast with parking and excellent staff - would stay again a recommend to friends.  

The Crown Hotel has a unique charm with its commanding position on the high street. 
With welcoming and friendly staff, you feel at home from the moment you arrive. 

Our room, with its super comfy bed, was bright and airy with views over the High Street.

Breakfast, which was served in a beautiful room, was really lovely with choices to suit all tastes.

I’d recommend The Crown for a relaxing stay in the centre of Southwold.

A terrific stay at the Crown New Year’s Day.  Southwold is a very romantic little beach town. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable.
Staff went above and beyond to make our stay magical, giving us a free room upgrade and ensuring dining reservations were all in order. The complimentary beers and crisps were a nice touch and robes and toiletries were welcomed.
The gorgeous beach is a 2 minute walk and a long walk prior to dinner built our appetite.
Food was very good  although portions were small this suited us as we went for 3 courses and therefore didn’t feel over full which we prefer.
Reception staff at check in were lovely and took time out to show us around. Bar and restaurant staff also very friendly and professional.
Breakfast offered good choices and set us up for another long walk prior to heading home. Wrapped up warm and hand in hand it was a perfectly lovely experience, as the beach is so pretty. 
We loved our stay here and provided a wonderful wind down after a busy festive season.

We were hoping for comfortable and unpretentious place to stay and The Crown turned out to be that plus more.  They gave us a corner room with views of the town (see photo) that was roomy and very comfortable.  Parking is free.  We dined in the hotel restaurant and had a wonderful meal.  We had the anchovies for a starter, venison for the main course and then shared the cheese plate.  This latter was a selection of English cheeses that were all of them, every single one, interesting and delicious.  There was a cheddar, a soft cheese (like Brie), a (soft) goat cheese, a blue cheese and something else.  To summarize, this is a lovely old hotel right in the middle of town within easy walking distance of everything and a top notch restaurant.  Highly recommended.

Excellent, if brief, stay for Christmas shopping. Rooms were very good – both were upgraded at check-in – and food and service to a very high standard. Staff friendly and helpful, and we loved the Back Bar, hidden away at the back (of course) and its 'small pub' atmosphere. Other plus points? Parking (always at a premium in the centre of town) and the Adnams beer and crisps provided in the rooms! Good value and thoroughly recommended.

Another excellent stay at The Crown.  Food, accommodation and service was all fantastic  Perfect location to walk all around Southwold and explore the surrounding area by car.  Will definitely visit again

Extremely warm and a very comfortable room the  staff very helpful at all times nothing was too much trouble food excellent with an extensive choice, there was a lovely lounge with comfortable chairs which were  great for enjoying morning coffee and after dinner drinks. The room we had overlooked the high street but was not noisy and it was interesting to look out and see activity!

An excellent experience

Very comfortable excellent food and friendly staff it was a cold week and the hotel really warm and welcoming 

We were attending a surprise birthday lunch party at The Crwon, so we stayed over. The hotel staff were very friendly, accomodating and welcoming. Richard was our host for the lunch and did everything he could over a long (and for some of us very boozy!!) afternoon & evening. 
The food was delicious, 19 of us had various pre-ordered mostly 3 course roast dinners, which we all served quickly & efficiently with a suitable gap between each course.
The room exceeded expectations and breakfast was excellent.
Location is perfect, a few minutes walk to the beach, in the middle of the high street and next to the lovely 2 Magpies bakery !!
We were delighted we stayed at The Crwon and we hope to come back.

Really Nice Hotel in a Great Location

Lovely Christmas break,food was brilliant! Service was good as the Hotel was very busy.The ladies at breakfast on 27th December were fantastic! The only negative comment is the fire alarm went off two nights in a row about 2.30pm so didn’t get good nights sleep ! When we went to check out (we don’t drink alcohol) we were presented with a bill for £59.00 for wine etc !! Someone had charged it to our room !We only paid for glass lemonade £5.00 very expensive for soft drink !

Lovely Christmas break

Lunch on Monday to end a lovely weekend in Southwold.  Warm welcome and a drink in the bar before lunch.  Nice varied menu.  I opted for the terrine with pickles followed by mussels.  The terrine didn’t come with pickles but that was soon rectified.  Have to say it was on the dry side and could of done with some chutney, but they didn’t have any.  Mussels very good.  Service very good.  We will definitely be back.
