Sutherland House

The whole visit totally surpassed our expectations. Our room was large, warm with a really comfy bed that was perfect to lay on and study the incredibly ornate ceiling. The whole building exudes history with beautiful floors, walls and ceilings commensurate with its age. We dined in and thoroughly enjoyed a well thought out, innovative, beautifully presented and incredibly ‘tasty’ dinner. The ‘lady of the house’ does all the work in the kitchen and works so well to bring all the meals for the table out exactly when you would expect, even accommodating our request to delay our desserts so as to allow us more room. After a great nights sleep; ( with the wind and horizontal rain coming straight off the east coast); we enjoyed a wholesome breakfast using local produce, including a home made black pudding that was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The husband & wife team really do ‘produce the goods’ you won’t be disappointed if you visit.
