We really enjoyed our stay at Charnwood Guest House. The spotless room had a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and hot shower. Breakfast was served fresh to order each morning. Location was a short walk along the river from the beach and restaurants.Finally a shout out to Ruth and Phil who were the most charming hosts you could hope to meet.

My hosts were excellent, with a good knowledge of the local area and the attractions of surrounding towns, the breakfast was filling and the room was clean and well appointed.

Very friendly  couple running the guest house. Made us very well welcome.

What a little gem this place is !! 
Phil & Ruth were absolutely lovely - nothing was too much trouble ! It was situated perfectly within 8 minutes of town in a quiet residential area.
Rooms were clean and comfortable , Breakfast was great !! 
I will definitely be coming to stay again in this lovely Guest House - so much im already planning the next trip , cant wait !

We had a fantastic stay here for my partners birthday. It's in a great location within an easy walk down the pretty river to the town. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the bed really comfy. Will definitely come back here again ☺️

Good location, in a quiet street and a pleasant ten minute flat walk to the seafront/town centre alongside a picturesque river. Our room was bright, spacious and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. Great parking too, which was really handy.
The hosts, Ruth and Phil, were excellent: friendly and happy to recommend places to eat with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast was fab too.

Lots to choose from to eat and drink in Lyme, particularly liked the Pilot boat for a meal, guided tour around the working mill also a must do. West bay and Bridport both worth a visit, the tram at Seaton was also great, but maybe best for the drier and sunnier times of year

Outstanding bed and breakfast - like staying with good friends.  The location enables you to walk into the town or beach by pathways that avoid nearly all traffic.  The beds were very comfortable, breakfasts are excellent, and the parking arrangements couldn’t have been better.  Fast free wi-fi.

Charnwood guesthouse is a comfortable,  welcoming, clean, well maintained and reasonably priced guesthouse, 10-12 minutes walk from the seafront. The owners, Phil and Ruth, are great hosts and offer a good range of options for breakfast, from assisted buffet to full English. I stayed recently with five friends and found the location very convenient for country walks and visits to places of interest, shops, seafront restaurants on the seafront, where we kept returning to the lovely Kiosk for coffees and delicious sandwiches and treats! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I hope to revisit Charnwood Guesthouse and recommend it highly.

Really lovely welcome and great hosts. Breakfast was fabulous! Everything is in walking distance and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable weekend.
Fish and chips were amazing at the Lyme Chip shop.

Excellent Guesthouse

Excellent b&b.
Clean, spacious, modern room; friendly, helpful hosts; onsite parking; decent breakfast.
Not too far out from the town & the seafront (but be ready for those hills).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Charnwood to anyone.
Lyme Regis really is a beautiful little town.

Nice b&b, beautiful town

Great find, free parking and about as far into Lyme Regis as I would want to drive a car. Short walk to front. Breakfast good quality, cooked well cooked and served by friendly, welcoming owners Phil and Ruth. Rooms and communal areas spotlessly clean. Rooms are cosy but well positioned with everything you need. Room 4 had a sea view (a ways off, but a nice touch). Really couldn't fault anything from phoning up to book, to arrival, to getting keys and getting a good night's sleep and breakfast. Two night stay, one still to go. Highly recommended, absolute pleasure.

Great find in Lyme Regis

Excellent stay in comfortable guesthouse in Lyme. Very obliging, helpful & friendly owners who aim to ensure guests have a positive stay. Super breakfast with lots of choice including soya milk to accommodate my dietary requirements. Tea & coffee in rooms including a variety of herbal options. Parking a bonus for Lyme. We hope to return.

Super guest house. Phil and Ruth made us very welcome and were very informative about the area etc. Our room was perfect,  lovely and clean, very comfortable bed, nice shower and delicious varied breakfast. Just a 10/15 minute walk to the sea front.  Would definitely recommend and we'll definitely be returning.

As a solo traveller, you can feel a bit wary, but I've always found excellent accommodation wherever I've visited and this was no exception!! My hosts were warm and friendly and Ruth grew up in my home town, so we had an instant connection. 

My room was very nice, with everything I needed and breakfast too, was well cooked and presented, with Phil being the perfect waiter. 

It was nice to chat over breakfast, of what the day held for all us guests and what we had done the previous day. Phil and Ruth were interested in everybody. 

Can't fault them and would stay there again, most definitely.
