Fantastic B and B. Excellent value for money. Lovely host. Brilliant for walkers looking for a quiet retreat.

What a lovely weekend we have just had at this guest house.  The hosts were so welcoming and the room was lovely.  Right next to a great pub serving lovely food.  We didn’t want to come home.

We had a really lovely stay here. It was so quiet on the night and the people who own it are lovely. We felt very welcomed. The location is great too, only a short drive to Bowness-on-Windermere. Overall a lovely place to stay, will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

Wonderful stay in such an accessible place to explore Windermere and Coniston. The property is lovely, with such attention to detail and a friendly warm welcome. Frank does a beautiful spread for breakfast...we highly recommend it!

Me and my partner had a lovely stay, it was a lovely room, pristine clean, plenty of towels, fan & heater which was brilliant. I have no complaints and frank was lovely, very accommodating. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Also very good location and parking.

The hostess was very attentive and the room was comfortable and quiet. The continental breakfast was beautifully presented and the location to walking paths was perfect for us. We will be sure to recommend to others and book there again ourselves.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at this guest house and would recommend it. Very good location near to Windermere, avoiding the crowds. It was so handy having parking, as lots of accommodation in the area can’t provide it. We had the continental breakfast option, great value and quality - gorgeous coffee! The bedding and sheets were high quality and we slept so well. Always plenty of hot water and I loved the scent of the toiletries. The gardens were pretty and we met Frank, the host, who was very nice.

A thoroughly pleasant stay at a lovely guest house.From arrival I was met by the owner who was pleasant, friendly and made me feel very welcome.The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable.  The bed was also nice and comfy too.I undertook 'The Lap' 47 mile ultra marathon, so when I came back to the room, I really needed a nice bed and this one was lovely.It was easy to enter and leave the property with your own key etc.Upon checking out the owner made sure everything was satisfactory and had a chat about the run too.All in all a very pleasant stay and I am doing The Lap again next year and will look to book here again.Highly recommended. Highly recommended, lovely stay

Just what we needed for a break.Room was on the small side but well equipped, spotless and very clean with good tea making facilities.. Ken wad extremely helpful both around the property and local knowlefge. Breakfast was just missing croissants but was suitable for our needs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

Lovely Quiet retreat far enough away from the madness of bowness but close enough for a visit. A good base for visiting the south end of the lakes. Comfortable rooms with everything you’d need for a base for your trip. The Swan Hotel is a five minute walk for food and drinks and Windermere, Grange over sands and Ulverston a fifteen minute drive away.

Perfect  for a relaxing short break away.

A very peaceful and lovely stay. The room was very clean and very well maintained and had a great view of a lovely little garden outside. Our sudden plan to have our breakfast in the same place was yet another great decision. It was a Continental breakfast at its best. We really enjoyed the food and Frank took great care of us. Thank you very much , Frank for giving us a very warm send off from Lake District!

A charming guest house situated at the southern end of Lake Windermere. Very comfortable and well equipped rooms together with a continental breakfast of good quality. Frank is a very friendly host who can advise you where to eat in the evenings. You can walk to the Lakeside ferry terminal in about 30 minutes along the newly opened West Windermere Way or the heritage steam railway will also take you there.

All in all, a lovely break in a beautiful location.

Charming guest house in a lovely area

I've stayed in many guest houses over the years and this one is packed with character and located in stunning scenery right at your doorstep. The gentleman who welcomed us in was very friendly. The room was comfortable and importantly, the mattress not soggy either!

The only bugbear I have, is that they do not offer a cooked breakfast. Aside from that, I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights while we were here for a wedding nearby.

After a long journey up from Kent we got to the house and was met by the owner Frank.
Frank is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. 

Our room was very clean and comfortable and although we had the smaller room it was perfectly fine for what we needed.

Breakfast was always delicious and freshly cooked and a nice variety of items. 

I would definitely book here again if we visit the lakes in the future.

Rooms very clean and have everything you need.
Will defiantly return if I’m in the lakes again.

Don’t be put off by road at the bottom it doesn’t affect your stay at all.

This is a great little place, perfectly located for exploring the southern lakes. The gardens and rooms are immaculate and the breakfast was excellent. The only issue that we had was our room was the smallest, and it was tiny. There is about 18 inches around the bed, so not enough room for two people in the room at once, and the bathroom was three foot square plus a small shower. It was however very modern and clean. I would definitely stay here again, just in one of the larger rooms.
