I am a bit late in doing this as we came in July but have to say it is a wonderful place to stay and Chris  and Les amazing hosts.   We have a favorite room which we always ask for which is so nice as I am sure all the others are too.  We have family connections in the area and do come as regularly as we can.  Have just booked for next year.  Would recommend everything about it.  Room lovely, comfy beds and beautiful gardens although because of the weather we could not make use of it last time.   Breakfast absolutely delicious.  Well done to the chef Les.  Look forward to seeing you both next year hopefully.

First time we have stayed in a guest house. Had to come at short notice for three nights to attend a funeral. What a real treat this gueast house is. We arrived after a long journey and waswelcomed by the owner Les who showed us to our room and explained everything to us. The room was absolutely spotless and had everything you needed in it to make your stay comfortaby. The next morming we went for breakfast and wasserved by the owners wife, Christine. What a lovely lady and an excellent breakfast chef as well, or did Les do the cooking? The full english breakfast was to die for and not a sign of grease on the plate. The home made bread and damson jam well need I say more deeeeeeeeeelicious!

We stayed at Lyndhurst Country House and were delighted with our stay. In addition to friendly and helpful suggestions for dinner, we had some great advice about some sights to see on our way south. Our host was even generous enough to give us a sample of their homemade Damson jam.

I can highly recommend Lyndhurst. My husband and I just returned from a two night stay there for a family wedding.  Rooms lovely, great facilities with nice touches like toiletries etc.Breakfast good and had home made bread. Lounge nice to relax in. We had a nightcap in there one evening and christine popped in to ensure we had all we need and were comfortable. There is even local whisky to sample should you choose to.  Owners gave good advice with regard to visit ie recommended motor museum which we both enjoyed. Friendly welcome, helpful owners, everything spotless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay  again 

... whom I like to call the Queen of Sheba! The three nights here were a delight. The house is light and bright and understatedly elegant and tasteful, surrounded by large and beautifully lush mature gardens with a riot of colours and separate lawns. Its clever design, and the double glazing, make the busy A590 seem distant, and yet this road gets you everywhere you would wish to go. Our twin room was entirely comfortable, and spacious enough for two easy chairs. The side window opened onto birdsong and the velux made the room very light, and both had both had efficient blinds. There was everything you could hope for, and extra touches such as spectacles cleaner, guests umbrellas, complimentary whisky in the guest lounge, three pillows each to choose from, and even champagne on request. The information in the room is perfectly worded so that you feel the hosts really want to make your stay the best - “we would love to ...” rather than “we would be pleased to ...” The breakfasts are high quality local produce, with homemade bread and preserves. We even had knowledgeable mechanical advice from Les when our car had problems! Christine and Les are exceptional hosts.

This is a wonderful, quiet B&B in a beautiful part of the world. Even though we were in the Lake District at a very busy time of year - over Easter - we could feel that we were away from it all. The rooms have everything we needed, including USB charging ports and small details like home-baked cookies and wipes for spectacles. The garden is immaculate and Christine was a superb host. If we are fortunate enough to return to the Lake District, we wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else.

Have spent many short breaks in the area as our daughter and family have a static caravan nearby.  Lyndhurst Country House is definitely ‘the one’ which we will always use in the future if available.

Stayed here this week, Christine is very friend,y and very welcoming.  Breakfast is very good, full English if you want it, eggs boiled, poached or fried, cereals, fruit, orange juice, tea or coffee.  The whole place is spotlessly clean with a lounge downstairs for guests to use if you want to.  Bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows.  Tea, coffee, hot chocolate making facilities in the room.  Shower gel, soap, make up removers etc in the en suite.  The only downside is that our room was quite small.  If I am in the area again I will definitely stop there again

Clean, comfortable accommodation at a quiet location, ideal for reaching the Lakes or exploring the lesser known Furness Peninsula. Excellent breakfast choice and hospitable, obliging hosts. Would have preferred a bath to the shower, but this is a trend country-wide. Would return in the future and recommend to others looking for this quality of accommodation at a fair price.
