Great stay in Clowance Lodge. Clean tidy and comfortable stay. Family of 5 with 3 children under 15 - accommodation suitable. Hot Tub was up to temperature day after arrival as advertised. Wi-Fi was useable and actually quite quick for a resort. Food in the restaurant was quick and good quality. Walks around the grounds kept the kids entertained on an adventure!

Spacious lodge set in extensive grounds. Good on site facilities. Very comfortable. Many beaches and activity centres within easy reach

Excellent  location close to everything we stayed in the treehouse which can only be described as magical situated right on lake so beautiful and luxurious grounds were beautiful  can’t wait to go back

Another wonderful stay at Clowance Estate with the added bonus of it being Christmas! The Staff were friendly and ever so helpful. Amazing accommodation which was spotless and well maintained. The Lakeview bar and restaurant provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience .

We spent christmas week here in the glass lodge it was the most relaxing and stress free Christmas we have ever had, the lodge is absolutely beautiful and clean and has everything you could possibly need, the hot tub was amazing. There is plenty of storage in the rooms and my son aged 14 loved sleeping in the upstairs area where he could just chill out like teenagers do. The main bedroom has an en-suite which was an added bonus to us, we would like to know where you get the towels from as they are something we would like to purchase as we found them very large and luxurious. We visited the bar/restaurant once during our stay bar staff very pleasant and the restaurant decorated lovely for Christmas, we didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t say what the food was like but all reasonable priced from looking at the menu. 
Couple of things to point out from a housekeeping point of view was, I don’t think all the lights worked upstairs so not sure if they check the light situation out, the bathroom with clowance estate on it had some holes by the pocket, the door seam by the dishwasher and sink was coming off apart from that no other issues to report, the housekeeping is amazing I know they can’t check every single thing but they are some notes for lodge 22. We left yesterday so maybe these can be looked into soon. Thankyou for a lovely stay we will hopefully be back (the 273 mile journey was worth it)

We stayed in lodge 8. Accommodation for 8 people. Lots of parking space, up to 4 cars. Most other lodges had 2 spaces.
Lodge was very spacious. Main bedroom ensuite. Another double and a twin and bathroom downstairs. Twin room upstairs. I did find beds too hard for our liking.
Lodge very well equipped. Fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, hoover. Cutlery drawer is hiding in the drawer by cooker. It's at the top, pull it out separately.

Hot tub was checked by maintenance team daily and was amazing. On leaving it was emptied and pressure washed by lovely young man. So reassuring. 

Had lovely fish and fizz in restaurant and hot chocolate after swim with children. 

Pool was a bit colder than would have liked. Bit chilly for little one. But, Granfer was on hand to take him so others could stay in. 

Nice to see the lights in the trees. 

Take a corkscrew if your wine has corks. 

Lovely stay, well supported by efficient team. 


The amenities in Argel Spa lodge are modern and well maintained. The resort looked very clean well managed. We were a party of six in the three bedroom lodge and everyone had nice things to say about their experiences. Our stay was a perfect Christmas getaway without all the hassles of air travel around the Christmas season. The location was perfect, although it's a long 5 hours drive from London where, however the experience was worth the journey. Overall, it was good value for money.

A superb stay at a fantastic property with everything you could want for a relaxing family break. Pool and spa facilities are fantastic and the restaurant food was superb. Thoroughly recommended and fantastic value for money.

The perfect Christmas getaway

Beautiful location

An enjoyable stay at Christmas

Well equipped and comfortable lodge in lovely woodland setting. We didn't use our outside hot tub - it was January - but the adjacent one was being enjoyed. A couple of days were spent just exploring the estate where it was dry underfoot. In season there is archery and frisby golf. We do not drive anymore, arriving by rail to Camborne and thence by taxi. There is a bus Camborne to Helston which stops outside the main entrance, with connections to Penzance, St Ives, Truro and Falmouth. We enjoyed an excellent meal at the site restaurant/bar with free use of the swimming pool. Sad to leave.

Leisurely winter break in lovely woodland surroundings.

Stayed 3 nights just before Xmas. Lovely grounds. Only downside the lodge was absolutely freezing when we arrived. As it had electric heating, took hours to warm up. No toiletries as stated in accommodation details, but generally well equipped accommodation. Would definitely return. A place you can completely relax. Woodland lodge was very spacious , sauna and hot tub were an added bonus.

Relaxing weekend

The estate was everything we have always expected and has always had the highest level of service. As one on Seasons larger resorts it is probably been a challenging time. I always enjoy going there at this time for a break prior to Christmas for a chance to relax and do a bit of shopping in Cornwall. I look forward to my next visit. The site is a very beautiful part of Cornwall and is well worth a visit at any time.
