Quite nice, need a few more toilets per floor, and hard to locate breakfast. getting in after dark can be challenging with 2 keys to 4-5 roommates. Quite new, indicating the increasing popularity of Totnes as a travel destination. And so on and so on until trip advisor accepts the review as having 200 or more characters.



A great hostel next to the train station and about a 5-10 minute walk to High street, the supermarket and Bridgetown. Extremely clean and the staff are friendly and will help how ever they can. In the summer it turns back into a summer school for a couple of months so be careful when planning to travel and book ahead.

I went to Totnes to explore some ancestral links I have in the area, and Windmill House Hostel is a great place to stay. Check in and check out was easy. Free lockers with your stay as well as wifi.  The hostel was very quiet when we stayed, not many people around but still lovely. My cousin and I stayed in a four bed dorm and only had one room mate for two nights. She was older and very nice. 

The place opened late last year and its evident - the bathrooms and facilities are immaculate, as good as my own home. The bathrooms had nice fixtures, very clean, very tidy. We spent time in the front room which has a book exchange as no one else was using it. So warm!

The staff were very friendly, we chatted to a couple of the ladies who worked there and they were so nice.

Very short walk to town - maybe 10-15mins and good links to the motorways. Its a 5min walk to the train station.

Would definitely recommend this place!

Windmill House proved to be an excellent spot for our family gathering. Joe and Janna went out of their way to accommodate the different ages and abilities in the most suitable rooms. The facilities are of a good standard and kept very clean. The communal kitchen / dining area is well equipped and ideal for children as they can go out to the garden and the adjoining playing fields.

Windmill is ideally located, close to the station and an easy walk into the vibrant town centre.

Pleasantly surprised with this cheap stay in Totnes. From the moment you enter the house it impresses with new, bright facilities and it is very clean.

Cleanliness - the place was very clean.
Facilities - All in top condition. Kitchen is well stocked kitchen with utensils etc. 
Parking - lots of it!
Lockers - available free of charge to keep your things safe.
Bathrooms - Plenty of bathrooms and very clean

Negatives: 

Rooms were clearly converted from some sort of classroom set up and as there are no lamps the rooms are very bright with the strip lighting.
