Very friendly owners with an excellent breakfast.Love the home made cakes a wonderful gesture.Had room 2 which is at the side of the property and quiet.

Lovely location to the harbor, on a slight hill. Were upgraded to a beautiful room with large bay windows. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cake biscuits and fresh milk a lovely touch. Free parking available. Plenty of toiletries and fridge in room.  TV was located in an awkward position to watch from bed.  Had a great stay and would definitely stay again.

We have stayed at the Kingsholm several times and have just returned from a three night break.  The current owners, Chris and Teija are friendly and welcoming.  Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a large bed, fridge, hairdryer, bottled water, tea, coffee etc.  I had the full English breakfast and it was the best I’ve had in Torquay.  There was also a good choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and home made jam/marmalade.
The location is great, just a short walk to the harbour, and there are a number of good restaurants close by. I would highly recommend the Kingsholm and will definitely return.

Such an amazing 3 night break in this beautiful guesthouse. We parked in a space at the back of the property which was good. Breakfast  had plenty of chose and cooked lovely. The room was very well laid out with the furniture and plenty of room for all your clothes, a hairdryer, a fan that we needed as it was so hot also a fridge for food and drinks.They even left 2 bottles of water as well as tea, coffee.,sugar and milk. The bed was massive and so comfortable and enough sockets by the bed. The bathroom was lovely with a large shower, a cupboard under the sink and  a flannel, soap, shampoo, shower gel, hand cream and a shower cap was provided. Christopher and Teija were so friendly and welcoming, they were amazing hosts and they even had special touches with home made cake and biscuits in jars in the hallway to help yourself to. Thankyou both. We will be definately staying with you again in the future and recommend your Kingsholm guesthouse to all our friends.

Spent three nights at Kingsholm towards the end of February. The accomodation was spacious and well furnished. Our room looked out over a park opposite and although it was a well used road it was not unduly noisey. We were on continental breakfast  basis and found this more than adequate. Nice little touches like homemade bread and jam/marmalade, good selection of cereals and fruit. The hosts were very attentive to any needs. The loction was very good for the harbour, restuarants, shopping centre and public transport to other towns. It must be said that there are steep steps to and from the car park and onto the pavement.

Chris and Teija made us very welcome and were extremely obliging for our 4 night stay. The accommodation was excellent - very clean rooms and comfortable bed.
There was a good selection for breakfast and the room was spacious.

We have just enjoyed a 5 night stay at the Kingsholm, under the new ownership of Teija and Chris. Judging on our experience, we find the bad reviews very harsh. The rooms were clean and comfortable, they would be serviced daily, (should you require it), and the hosts were friendly and welcoming! The breakfast was well cooked and you had enough on your plate. Again a lighter option to the full English breakfast was available should you require it. Granted, the hotel wasn't full, but I suspect that guests are being put off by negative reviews. All I can say is don't be put off. Give the new owners a chance! Carl and June were there for 12 years, don't forget,and obviously had a lot of returning guests, ( like ourselves), and deservedly so! And I guess, people maybe don't like change!  We are booked in again for July, ( having previously booked with the afore mentioned previous hosts), and after this week's stay, we can see no reason not to return! 

Having just read the previous poor reviews we would like to say how happy we are with our stay. Please give them a chance. They have only just taken over . The room was clean and we had a very comfortable night's sleep.  We will definitely be staying again. Thank you Teija  and Chris x

Always made to feel welcome by Carl,June and Lexie. Breakfast is fantastic and rooms are spotless. No matter what silly questions we have nothing is to much trouble. Great location and 5 min walk to the front and the pubs. Looking forward to seeing you again in 2023 for the air show.

Comfy room, excellent Breakfast!

Wonderful Weekend At The Kingsholm Guesthouse.

Lovely accomodation and caring hosts.

Just come back from here after a very warm week. Fan in room which was needed . Breakfasts  were excellent, could pick what you wanted each day for the cooked breakfast. Very good choice of cereals, Fruit & Yoghourts if required. Perhaps a little background Music would have been nice. Room was ideal for us & they would have cleaned every day if you wanted. Cannot understand the bad remarks as we had a very pleasant stay.

Fantastic B & B

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Kingsholm, June and Carl made us feel very welcome and the afternoon goodies were delicious!  It is very convenient for the town and the theatre.  The room we had was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed, the bathroom was a good size.  Breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from.  Will definitely be going back there.

Brilliant location , lovely hosts who are very friendly and helpful , have been several times and will continue to visit in the future, so close to amenities and pubs and restaurants , room do clean , lovely touch of a cake per day left for each room, brilliant breakfast , I couldn’t recommend it enough
