I actually visited this place in August-September 2015 with my Dad for a day, we made our way from Woking going towards Plymoth, we both were taking a one bedroom double bed together so it we didn’t have to spend so much a night since it is a little pricey for us, but he ended up going on the wrong drive way and scratched his new car on some branches, the owner felt bad and offered us another room with not that much expense on top, we were so grateful, but I can understand why it was pricey, the beds were absolutely comfortable, and the breakfast the next morning was amazing, all freshly made and baked and popped out of a chicken, not to mention the amazing views and fresh country smell, would love to go back one day 💚

Our group of 6 adults and 6 children was the first to stay at Crocadon Farmhouse in its new reincarnation as a self-catering holiday cottage rather than a bed & breakfast.  Our first impressions of the farmhouse was that it was full of character, spacious, comfortable and clean and tidy and we had found ourselves a perfect base for the week.  All three families had an abundance of space and this was particularly useful in the evenings when settling the children (all aged 5 and under) to bed so that we could enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine or two by the giant BBQ!  The grounds and gardens of the farmhouse were also perfect for fun and games and we were also well entertained by the table football, pool and table tennis.  The property would also be great for celebrations with the most fabulous dining hall providing the perfect venue.  All in all, we had a great time at Crocadon and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore South East Cornwall, the Tamar Valley and Dartmoor National Park.

The house, although poorly signposted, is beautiful. I arrived as the owners were trying to herd up the neighbours escaped cows, so it took a few minutes (not surprisingly) to get to my room. I was asked what time I wanted breakfast, not just told its this time, like it or not, which was a refreshing change from the norm. The room was very nice, spacious enough that many places would have made two rooms to maximise profits. All in all a good place to get some peace and quiet. Any downsides? Well one or two things hence a four instead of a five. The armchairs in my room are in desperate need of reupholstering, but still comfortable, Another lack is an iron and ironing board, but in fairness they don't claim to provide this facility, still it would be a nice touch as living out of a suitcase always means crumpled clothes. Finally there is no TV in the rooms, however there is a lounge with TV and a games area with a pool[ table and the dining area is attractive. Would I come back here? Most definitely, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a relaxed 'Non-Hotel' family type atmosphere away from the noise of town. One other plus point which I just remembered was that I have some specific dietary requirements and when I booked and put that in the requests area of the booking page. The owner emailled me and asked whether the special arrangements he made for my breakfast was suitable and was extremely accommodating. So on reflection I have changed my review to five because of that.

Just the place for a complete get away from the maddening crowd.
Eden project and most of Cornwall's beaches and attractions all within 3/4 hour but able to return to tranquility after a day out.
Dogs welcome in some of the bedrooms just ask.
Breakfast, well where should I begin !
All fresh local ingredients, home made bread, filter coffee and all served with a smile by Sue who is a font of local knowledge.
Shall return again for a complete break from the rat race. Xx

Ideal for large group celebration. Farmhouse was warm and welcoming with impressive period features and ample entertaining space. Unfortunately, the AGA was not warm enough to cook pre-prepared meals and broke down completely during our stay. It was repaired promptly and we were offered £100 towards the cost of eating out instead. There was also a major leak in the roof that stopped us using the stove in the spectacular galleried main dining room. Real shame that our celebrations were hampered by some standard maintenance issues as this is a very impressive property that deserves 5 stars.

Rural Idyll

Beautiful B&B in an super quiet location.

The farmhouse is a bit hard to identify as there are no signs, and when we first saw it we thought there was nobody home.  However there is a huge sign for the Crocadon Sawmill.  The farmhouse is the first building you come to before going up the road to the sawmill.  We booked online a few hours before arriving, but when we arrived they were not expecting us.  Another guest answered the door and let us in.  It was a bit disorganised because the owner was away and he had left his son in charge.  Son was friendly and there was a room available so we stayed the night.  The bed was comfortable and we had a charming view.  We were invited to use the rest of the farmhouse as much as we liked.  There is a 
pool table for guests to use.  We went out for a meal and we were surprised to find that we were not given a key, the front door was left unlocked.  We could not lock our bedroom door either.  The shower was good - plenty of hot water.  The next morning we met a lovely lady who provided a top notch breakfast.  Sunday morning church music was on the radio in the kitchen, the long wooden table was laden with lovely things to eat, and the little family dog woke up and sat next to us under the table.  It was a good way to start the day!
