The Edgcumbe Arms

While visiting the stunning Edgcumbe estate for a bit of sightseeing during our trip to Cornwall, we stumbled upon The Edgcumbe Arms—and what an absolute delight it was! We're not locals (visiting from out of town near Plymouth), and this cosy, traditional pub felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The building itself oozes character, with beautiful vintage décor that gives off a Victorian-era charm. It’s the kind of place you instantly feel at home in, with crackling atmosphere and gorgeous views across the water. The beer here is clearly well looked after—every pint was fresh and reasonably priced. But what really made our visit stand out was the service. We were greeted by Harry, who was nothing short of brilliant. Warm, funny, and incredibly helpful, he not only gave us great recommendations for drinks but also shared loads of local knowledge that really enriched our trip. You could tell he genuinely loved the place, and his enthusiasm was infectious. If you’re anywhere near the area, make sure you pop into The Edgcumbe Arms. It’s a proper pub with proper charm.
