Here hpuse hunting as moved down from London! What a find! Great for all who are seeking home from home and modern comforts. Some times it is just nice to not have to go out when here for a long-er period of time! I was pleasantly surprised by a lovely welcome pack (with a very decent bottle of rouge included,thanks!) And in general by the standard ofbthe accommodation And modern fittings. Have now found new, permanent digs but have recommended to visiting family to stay in the summer!

Fab new Apartments !

We had our office Christmas party at St. Olaves in 2017. 55 people for a sit down meal followed by a live band.

Sadly, the food was pretty grim. We were served dry, reheated Turkey and a trio of mousses for desert which had spent the evening sat in an adjacent room, uncovered and were mostly left on people's plates after dinner. 

Staff were generally unhappy and short with guests. They had no fresh lime at the bar and when we asked for some music to be played we were told to use a docking station which didn't work.

We made the most of it but the venue could have easily put on a much better party with a little more effort. It's a shame because, having eaten and had parties at Forn, the restaurant next door which seems to be under the same management, I had really high expectations. Forn is great, St. Olaves is not. 

My colleague just reminded me that the Christmas decorations were woefully pathetic. uninflated balloons dangling from light fittings isn't up to scratch for the type of event we had planned.

Christmas Party Fail

Awful place in awful conditions, spoke to temporary cleaner that said she was filling in, not sure what the previous cleaner was doing but definitely wasn’t cleaning. 
Unfortunate because the building itself is nice, but it doesn’t seem like the owner cares about the condition it’s been left in. 
Also stayed in a ‘luxury’ apartment, but the owner couldn’t even be bothered to provide a set of toilet rolls for our stay, unlike any holiday home I’ve ever stayed in before.
Also checking in I saw reviews that were saying similar to what I’m writing now, but they seem to have been taken down so wondering if the owner is reporting recent bad reviews which is very dodgy and to be taken into account

Completely disappointing

We had our Christmas staff party here and i was really looking forward to it as I hadn’t been to St Olaves before. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The carpet was very worn and the whole room looked really tired. We couldn’t play music during the meal as the speaker was broken. Thankfully we work with a good group of loud people otherwise it would have been silent!
The food was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Strange brown balls that I was told were supposed to be pate but I’m not too sure and the dessert was foul (almost everyone left it). The bar wasn’t sufficiently stocked either. A complete shambles. Forn should be embarrassed to be associated with this hotel.  

Just awful

We stayed here for one night. So positives first. City centre location, parking available, great bars, food & shops in walking distance.
So... I can imagine in its heyday this was a great place, full of character and warmth. It was badly maintained, lack of onsite staff, doors that don’t shut, peeling paint, the list goes on and on! It’s in a very bad almost dangerous state of repair (fire alarm isolated for our entire visit with faults flashing up!) .
I understand it’s being converted into managed accommodation which explains its current state.

Not great.... 

Sadly gone downhill.  Stayed here a few times before and was great.  Stayed here recently on my own and was truly awful.  Restaurant closed.  Bar closed.  No staff.  Room not cleaned.  I reluctantly have to say do not stay here.
