We stayed over the early May bank holiday with an extended family group of 7. The 2 barns worked well. It is such an idyllic setting and a great base for walking and exploring the mountains. The barns are comfortable and have everything you could need for a great stay. We'll be returning. 

Lovely location and comfortable accomodation. Crickhowell has great pubs for food. All the basics are supplied including milk, butter, sauce, eggs, bacon and welsh cakes. Good walks from the doorstep. Bird and bat lovers will be very satisfied.

Peaceful Haven

I post this with a heavy heart. Myself and 3 friends (all in our 50’s and 60’s) booked time off work to spend a relaxing 2 night stay in this property. It was a retirement occasion for one of our party and another had arranged care for her husband who suffers dementia, for a well earned break. We were greeted with a torrent if abuse from the female owner shouting in my friends face that we were not allowed on the property until 3pm, despite bring informed we were able to check in from 10am ( it was approx 11am by this time). My friend attempted to reasonably explain the difference in the check in time, but this lady  proceed to scream at all of us to get off her property ( 3 of us were outside her gate or in the car.). She threatened To set her  husband on us and proceeded to lock the property and drove off leaving us bewildered and shaken. I have to say her behaviour was totally irrational and erratic and we felt very intimidated by her. Hence to say we did not return. 
I would seriously suggest this lady take up another career as running a cottage rental is not in her or anyone else’s interest. I would not recommend this rental to my worst enemy.  

Very distressing experience

Turned up as agency sent booking in from 10am, arrived to an absolute torrent of abuse from probably the most vile woman I will ever encounter, threatening us and actually threw us off the property telling us to come back at 4pm to book in... well I can tell you that isn't happening and a full refund will be had

Disgusting vile behaviour

We arrived in wales on the 4th may and needed some where to stay so found this on booking.com we booked it while having a coffee in Abergavenny 15 mins later we arrived to as someone else has said the rudest woman we've ever met first thing she asked was how much we had paid £161.70 for 2 rooms. She said well it's £90 a night and then said 2 of you are very big aren't you so we said right we will go find somewhere else which we did and was great so we never got in to look at the actual property

I cant comment on the actual accommodation because we decided not to stay after meeting the owner.  From the off she was abrupt but that progressed to out and out rudeness.  she told us that if we opened a bottle of wine or used any toilet other than the one that was designated she would phone the police!! she also said that she's had people - and i quote - "from your neck of the woods" stay before and they had made a mess so presumably that's anyone from the valleys!!  when we asked about using the toilet while she made up the bed she advised us to go back to the public conveniences in Crickhowell.  Avoid!!
