I had a lovely meal myself and my husband really enjoyed our food it was delicious and the service received by Emily was amazing she is a credit to your hotel nothing was too much trouble

Super comfy beds, nice breakfast too. A really nice team and helpful too, carried our bags. No lift but stairs are a good work out after a few drinks!! Lovely pub downstairs too, with live music on one of the nights. We felt so welcome and will definitely go back.

Less than a ten minute walk from the train station and just opposite the courts and start of the High street, the location of the Westgate couldn't be better.

The building itself is stunning with its multitude of stairs, uneven flooring, narrow corridors. We heard it may have originally been built as a brothel which just adds to the charm.

Our room was high up, accessed via winding tilted staircases not designed for the weak.
It was spacious with a double bed, desk, wardrobe and an ensuite. Very clean, albeit our bins hadn't been emptied from the previous visitors and the WC wasn't clean on our arrival. The bed was comfortable with fresh white bedding.

The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and welcoming in a chilled, relaxed way. 
Our breakfast the following morning was adjusted to our particular dietary needs. Our waitress was lovely and helpful, quickly sorting out our requests. Our plates arrived quickly and food was ok, the meal wasn't particularly large or anything out the standard pub breakfast.

Our room was particularly cheap especially for this part of the UK so: would we return? Yes, quite likely.

We stayed in room 1 I must say the room was lovely. Large room very clean and tidy. Decor was also very nice. 
Lovely large walk in shower. 
The westgate itself had a lovely atmosphere warm and cozy. 

The breakfast was also nice with full English and continental on offer with other items as vegetarian, baps etc so we would definitely stay here again and would recommend

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back. Staff were very welcoming and we were able to drop our bag off early. The rooms were really nice and had everything you could want. Clean and comfortable with tea tray, hairdryer etc. Aiden was very helpful in particular. We had room five which looked out over the museum, was very pretty area. No night noise either. Great location for seeing all the sites, Winchester has to offer. We parked in the Colebrook Street car park as have used it before, this down the bottom of the main high street and is £18 for 24Hrs. There is a multi-storey nearby. Nearly forgot the wonderful breakfast, included in the price! Great place and great service, thank you!

Excellent location and very helpful & Friendly staff. Lovely big and clean rooms. Excellent value. We had 2 rooms as my son and his girlfriend stayed as well while we were visiting my eldest son and his family. The breakfast was included in the price and very nice - I had the full English.

We had a lovely stay at The Westgate, lovely big room, bed was super comfy and it’s in a great location for visiting Winchester and its shops, cathedral and lovely Christmas markets! Breakfast was excellent and staff were always helpful.  Wonderful stay.

The Westgate has flourished over the last couple of years. Ben has worked wonders!

I stayed at the Westgate whilst working at the Coroner's Court, which is literally across the road (2 minute commute to work - hard to beat that!)

The room was very comfortable and nicely-presented, with an extremely comfortable bed. There were sufficient plug sockets and all the necessary toiletries, towels etc. It was a lovely place for me to work in the evening. A great value stay.

The pub below was welcoming and the food was good quality. Breakfast in the morning was also good although not served in a rush - absolutely fine for leisure travellers but perhaps just a little slow for me with work (but I could have allowed more time). 

Although there is no parking at the Westgate, the Tower multi-storey was literally a 5 minute walk away and this did not pose any problem. In the evening when I arrived there were hundreds of spaces to choose from. 

The location is extremely good for the castle, law courts and coroner's court, plus the local government buildings and registry office. The high street was also walkable. A good location in my view.

My only criticism of this lovely pub with rooms (and one which they can't do much about) is that there was a little bit of noise from rooms above in terms of walking on the floor, and some noise from below when the quiz night was on - but this did not disturb me and I would not hesitate to stay again if I work in that part of the world in the future.

Amazing. I love this place so much. It's not a far walk from the train station so when I got in late at night it was quick to walk to.

The bed was so comfortable. I don't know if I was just jetlagged or what because once I hit that mattress and those pillows, I instantly fell asleep. I was just so cozy. It felt like I was staying in a friend's home. 

The staff was so wonderful. I felt bad, I was just this clueless American hot off the plane and didn't know what was going on. They were so patient, kind, and accommodating. I loved chatting with them. 

The pub downstairs was an experience to behold. This is a pub I would hang out at. I wish I could have stayed longer so that I COULD hang out at the pub more. The breakfast that was included was delicious. I can't speak any better words as to how wonderful my stay at the Westgate was. I just wished I took more pictures of it!
