Booked this to stay overnight for the body shop at home conference.
Easy to book and reasonable for £40 for a twin room.
En-suite shower room also - nice and clean. 
Beds tidy and neat as was the room. Good size wardrobe to hang clothes in and bedside tables. 
Dave was very helpful when we checked in and advised us to head over to the local Wetherspoons for tea

Excellent service, felt like I was in B&B in a family home. Sarah was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble. Her breakfasts were legendary & poached eggs cooked to perfection. Room was warm & cosy and very quiet - though the TV had a mind of its own, would sometimes turn itself back on at strange times in the night!!
I'd definitely stay at the Lord Nelson again next time I'm up in the Wellington area.

Excellent stay once more at this friendly quirky hotel. Excellent value for money and guaranteed comfort not forgetting the scrummy breakfast cooked and served by bubbly Sarah.

Just back from a 2 night stay at lord nelson. Floors are a little creaky but it is an old building, once in room it was so peaceful ( room 2 facing car park) room was comfy and warm with everything we needed but what made our stay great was the staff, Sarah made us so welcome and she is so friendly, her breakfasts are delicious. We came as guests but left feeling like friends. Will be returning  soon.

Stayed here over night for a rest in a very busy weekend. Was very easy to find and in a good location to amenities. The room was well decorates with plenty of space. We had a very warm welcome and was made to feel right at home. My phone couldn't pick up the wifi though this didn't really matter to me. Breakfast in the morning was very good value, and they catered to my lactose free/gluten free/veggie diet, (fussy I know). Outside could do with a lick of paint but please don't judge a book by its cover. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Don't be put off by the hotels outside appearance. But it took the Lady a while to answer the door . We were greeted very politely and shown to our room which was quite adequate and clean. Comfortable bed etc. Private parking was conveniently behind the hotel. Excellent value for the price.

For perspective we only paid £135 for three nights over a weekend in April, so it was very cheap.

Room was clean enough and bed was comfortable too. Free parking was useful and the room was nice and warm.

Room was a bit dark, with no view, shower was a power shower working off the mains electricity and lacked oomph. Toiletries and towels provided. Cooked breakfast was £5 and OK. Tea making facilities in the room were good, small TV located at odd angle.

It's a family run place and the staff care, try hard and were great. Certainly better than a faceless Travelodge but does need a little bit of TLC.

Pretty basic but very friendly staff.

book for 1 night clean warm and easy access to town cheap as chips 40 pound a night u get what u pay for if its just to get your head down then its a good little place shower not very powerful and warm if you want luxury then this isnt the place to stop
