My wife and I stayed for 4 days originally but extended to 8 days we had to move into another self catering cottage because the one we were in was previously booked but not a problem both cottages were lovely and unique and we felt right at home from day one .we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed wine on the patio in the sun ,octon lodge is in a beautiful rural  location but close to everything we enjoyed the hospitality of Geoff Lisa and there son joe we were very lucky to have found such a lovely place with lovely people 

Amazing place

Warm and friendly. Room was lovely. Breakfast was a feast. Thanks. Bear the London taxi charges though the meter keeps turning even when you Are stopped

Over night stay

Octon Lodge was a great find.  We stayed for 3 nights in the cottage and were very fortunate with the weather, as we were able to take advantage of the lovely garden.
The cottage was well equipped, clean, comfortable and very roomy.  The hosts, Jeff and Lisa, were very friendly, welcoming and the breakfasts were very filling and delicious.   I would certainly have no hesitation of recommending Octon Lodge and would love to stay with them again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Excellent location

I have stayed in both the double room and also the luxury suite.

Rooms are extremely comfortable. The owners are very polite and welcoming.

The breakfast is just right.

You do need to travel for food/drink. But there is also a self contained cottage on site.

Tranquil

What a wonderful gem of a place.warm welcome superb room with own entrance relaxing garden views outside seating area along with separate sofa area and huge comfy bed.delicious expertly cooked huge full English breakfast. Didn't want to leave

Perfect rural escape

I have just spent the weekend at Octon Lodge with some friends and felt like I had to write a review immediately. We had an absolutely fantastic time. I stayed in the luxury suite which had a 7ft emperor sized bed it is enormous and so very comfortable,best sleep I’ve had in ages, the whole room was magnificent far better than I envisaged. The bathroom had his and her sinks , wonderful power shower and huge free standing bath. Everything was was thought of including a DVD player and a selection of dvds.
Breakfast was so delicious a full English with free range eggs and locally sourced 
sausages and bacon, yummy!
My friends stayed in a double en-suite and their room was really lovely and such good value for money.
We received a really warm and friendly welcome and the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful all weekend.
We have already booked in to return very soon.
I would highly recommend Octon Lodge.

Wonderful 16th century lodge

I travel all over the country and this is one of the best !! Nice people make you feel at home in such a beautiful environment for traveller .
Slept like a log on the four poster bed and the full English set me up for the day !!
DON'T MISS THIS ONE !!!

What a lovely place

So disappointing: I booked the hotel for a family trip but unfortunately one of the party came down with an illness so I had to cancel, with two weeks notice. The staff explained no refund could be given as I had booked a cheap room. I’d actually booked with the hotel directly, in order to save them any commission from any websites, so was unaware there was a differentiation between rooms. Anyway - after much to-ing and fro-ing someone on the phone promised to refund the cost of the cheapest room as they had sold it to someone else. At least 10 ignored phone calls and emails later, they still haven’t refunded the money. I am just so incredibly disappointed and have never been overtly ignored before by an establishment. Please make sure you book through booking.com and have a refund option if there is any chance something might prevent you taking the trip. Absolutely understand the rules and no-refund policy, it’s just the fact the refund was promised and then we were ignored which has upset me.
