Great accommodation, friendly and welcoming with a great breakfast. The couple that run it can’t do enough to help. There’s onsite parking and it’s close to the distillery and some nice pubs and restaurants in what is quite a spread out place for a small town. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Great value.

Dennis is a wonderful host with a wonderful property located in a great location. Shandwick House is a recently excellently updated rental located on a quiet street in a quaint pillage within an hour of Inverness. 

Dennis went out of his way to assist in making a called upon a reservation required by one of our travellers. 

All in all a a great bit too short of a stop over.

Wonderful B &B , very clean , lovely hosts , the best Breakfast on our  two week trip in Scotland ., the room was tastefully decorated and a very good size , with a very nice shower . Tain is a pleasant village and thank you for the pub recommendation.Thank you Anthea and Nick

We stayed in a very nice room in Shandwick, within walking distance from the centre of Tain.  The fact that there is a good car park made it easier to relax.

Breakfast was well cooked, served on time and a wide range of cereals and bread was available.  Particularly important to us was that my wife, whose diet requires food to be gluten free, had several options to choose from.

Fantastic accommodation, very comfortable room, excellent breakfast, great host in Dennis . Great recommendation for Platform 1864 also.
Great location in Tain , will definitely be back .

Beautiful room in this comfortable guest house. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - huge range of cereals, muesli, granola etc, plus fresh raspberries, blueberries and other fruit, followed by a first rate cooked breakfast. Our host was very helpful and friendly, too. Highly recommended!

One of the nicest B&B's I've stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot through work. The host greeted us on arrival and couldn't have been nicer. Very Very clean room with a good size en suit. Ample parking, Good breakfast. I would go out of my way to stay again.

Dennis was a kind and welcoming host. The decor is very tasteful. Each morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast as well as a great variety of cereals, fresh berries, yogurt and toast. The real standout for me was how immaculately clean Shandwick House is. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed in an accommodation that was any cleaner!

Friends stay for a night 

Immaculately clean, delicious food and tasteful decor. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Tain

Lovely guest house located centrally in Tain. Visited as part of our NC500 trip and we were delighted with our room and the following mornings breakfast. Denis and his wife were great hosts and all in all a very enjoyable one night stay. Would definitely stay here again if in the area and can thoroughly recommend to others. 

Great Guest House and Great Hosts.

We live locally but needed somewhere to stopover whilst attending a family party.

We were greeted by Dennis who is very welcoming and is happy to accommodate you in any way he can.

We booked a double room which is tastefully furnished, clean and has a lovely big bay window which looks out onto the Dornoch firth.

The room was cosy and along with a good sized bathroom with a shower which was very warm and pleasant.

In the morning you can have either a continental or fully cooked Scottish breakfast in the spacious dining room and the food is cooked to a very high standard which is great value for money.

The B&B also has it’s own onsite parking which is unique as it’s situated in a beautiful, peaceful and traditional location where space is at a premium so this is definitely a plus point.

The location of the B&B is ideally situated behind the high street meaning you are a short walk away from handy amenities and it’s also advantageously placed close to a Tesco store.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here so much that we have already booked again to stay later this year for another family event and have also recommended another couple to book here. Looking forward to it.

Fantastic Bed & Breakfast - Great Value For Money

Fantastic guesthouse with lovley, welcoming owners. The guesthouse has its own carpark.The rooms are cosy and immaculately clean. We stayed in a double room with ensuite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. 
There was a great selection of continental and hot breakfast items. My husband really appreciated the fully cooked breakfast which came with the price of the room. Will definitely book again for future trips to Tain.

Lovley guesthouse

We stayed here for two nights when visiting family in the area.  The rooms were immaculately clean, large and with plenty of storage space, and the bed was super-comfy.  Breakfast was lovely, too, and the host, Dennis was very friendly.  The off-street parking was handy, and the location is central within the town, but away from the main road.  Would definitely look to stay here again when visiting family the next time!
