Overtown Manor

6 couples celebrating 30 years of friendship booked Overtown Manor for three nights over New Year 2024/2025. We had a decent list of requirements when researching the venue, and Overtown Manor did not disappoint :- 1. Six bedrooms with six bathrooms, all decent size and well appointed. We loved the tall ceilings and comfortable beds, luxurious bedding, great views, copious towels, constant hot water. 2. Welcoming kitchen suitable for 12 breakfasts. We found a four door Aga, additional cooker, table which would have accommodated 16, crockery and cutlery in abundance, and more kitchen machinery than I knew what to do with. Particularly loved the old-style heavy metal Magimix Nespresso coffee machine. 3. Formal dining room for New Year's Eve. We had a ball in the huge high-ceilinged dining room where the 12 of us were sumptuously seated at the huge table. Chef recommended by Overtown Manor excelled herself with delivered meal we had ordered, such a treat and such a high standard, thank you so much Sally Armstrong. 4. Relaxing space where we would not feel crowded if quiet withdrawal to nurse hangovers was required. Loved the sitting room with seating for 8, double aspect, light but cosy, and especially the drawing room with seating for all of us more formally and a great karaoke venue. 5. Warmth and relaxation despite the numbers. There were real log fires in the kitchen, dining room, sitting room and drawing room, which we lit with enthusiasm and owners kept us supplied with logs throughout our stay. The house flowed beautifully, I think we enjoyed every nook and cranny. 6. Dog friendly. Paved flooring in the kitchen took the pressure off misbehaviour issues, great walks were set out in one of the many instruction books.
