Proper one like. Cheeky little room proper nice one aswell. Loved it liked. Proper one. Want to come back like. Nice one yeh. Proper clean and proper tidy like. Nice greeting like. Better than metro inns like. Was proper this was. Loved it big time proper

After getting there with confusing of speaking to a receptionist on phone 3 weeks in advance if twin room was on 1st floor as myself and friend were disabled but could manage one flight of stairs, was told twin rooms were on second floor the receptionist on at the time went out of her way to help she upgraded us to a family room on ground floor free of charge. Even though we booked through booking. Com
She was also running the bar and doing the new bar meals thry started we had a evening meal from 6pm wasn't quite 6pm she was having her tea said I quickly eat mine and do yours said no take your time but still got up and do new it
Morning is a continental breakfast which was excellent for the price and a pre order of bacon balm if wanted for  £3  the lady in charge that night is a asset to the place and should I come this way again I would book again 

For the price you pay this is a well run hotel.  Everything you need for a good night's sleep.   Bed, clean towels, decent pillows.  Plus a decent breakfast in the morning - tea, coffee, orange juice, toast, cereals, croissant and fruits.   

I mean, if all you need is a place to get your head down, this does the job

Start with what we all love. Food

BREAKFAST: lovely lady and great food with a decent selection on menu and they even customised for me. It was freshly cooked and that was obvious by the food being hot and waiting a short time. 

EVENING MEAL: 1/4 burger with cheese and chips. £4 ish! OMG. It was amazing. The chief needs to enter master chief. The portion was huge and I was quiet full and forget I had desert too. 

DRINKS: all drinks are reasonable in scarily. I think soft coke is a little expensive but sprits are great. £1.95 I think for a JD and like £1.30 for a Coke. I won’t complain !

ROOMS: I had economic/ shared bathroom. The room was lovely and warm and the bed was comfortable. It had everything I needed for what I paid. The TV has a HDMI port so I could watch Netflix. The only issue was minimum plugs. I could
Only find two. So bring an extension cable. The hairdryer was broken but it was ok as I didn’t end up using it. The noise level was great. I was room 15

SHOWER LOO: again, clean and tidy. Shower was as expected. 

STAFF: lovely family meal and they spend time with you on the bar and chat ( whilst working ) very accomodation and helpful. 

K relate it 5* because it is based on what I paid and you get what you pay for. It was better than I expected. 

It could do with a decoration as looks like it was my grans house and I think a few water leaks as ceiling dipping. But it hasn’t affected me.

Decent hotel - decent value, nice staff.

WiFi is a bit iffy - but for the value it is very good.
Location is central especially to the super mall close by - I’d recommend this to anyone on a budget or with a family.

My wife and I stayed here last night as we needed a budget hotel as we were going to a trade show today. We weren't arriving until late so a budget hotel was fine. For less than £60 the room was clean, full English breakfast, free parking, all spot on.

Excellent customer service 

Perfect if all you need is a bed and breakfast 

Proper one like

This is a nice place to stay for a great price.  Bed and linen were clean and comfortable, 2  pillows, breakfast included, WiFi and free parking.  Yes the place is a little worn, but the staff are friendly, the bar was well stocked and it was a quiet place to sleep the night. There were lots of available showers and toilets but shared, which is what you do in every pub and restaurant.   

I would stay again.

Good priced one night stay

I booked 5 days as I was on a course. I read terrible reviews but thought I’d give it a go. Parking is ok. Booking in and out no problem. The hotel is seriously outdated, dirty and a lot of safety hazards that I hope they are seen to. The room was freezing and not once’s cleaned in 5 days or bed changed, if you are at the front of the hotel it’s noisy from the main road. I would stay again but only if desperate.

Only stay if you can’t find anything else

Booked this hotel as it was very cheap for a night out with some friends. Free parking was good, but when I entered a man answered the door and just stared at me for a couple of minutes. Had no idea if he worked there or was another guest. Eventually he asked if I had a reservation. He told me they could not accept card payments (my reservation from booking.com was one where I was supposed to pay at the property) and said I could either go to a cash point or do a bank transfer. Not being that familiar with the area to know the closest cash point I opted for bank transfer. He gave me the account details which I put in but I needed the business name on the account - weirdly he didn't seem to know it and then gave me a string of numbers. My banking app flagged that the account name did not match the other details. I told him but he was amant what he told me was right. I did the payment and my app immediately flagged it for "additional security checks". Again I told him this and he shrugged and said it would probably be fine. Early red flag. 

Other issues:

- generally run down, dated decor.
- has a bar but was never open (and how would you pay, anyway?)
- communal bathrooms with showers but didn't seem to be any hot water. The couple of bathrooms I tried both had damp problems. One of the two toilets on my floor was not working 
- incredibly steep stairs 
- they have WiFi (despite a sign at reception saying they don't) but it's very slow and only works on the ground floor.

In short, avoid. Not sure what's going on with the payment situation, but my bank flagging it as potential fraud is worrying

Cheap, but probably still too expensive

Decor is old , walls peeling , smashed tiles,  wires on show , electric tripped and  the socket then woke us I'm the night making a high buzzing noise. 
Those were the least of the issues .
Doors slamming all night , people on the landings talking about drink and drugs (so not for families). Bedding and duvet covers smelly and stained and the rooms stank very strongly if nicotine even though there is no smoking posted all around. 
Breakfast was OK for continental, all found something to eat but no choice of a cooked breakfast like some pictures suggest. 
The 2 staff we did see were pleasant enough. 
There was a leak coming through the ceiling in the lounge/bar area and visible signs of older waterdamage on many of the other ceelings, that and the buzzing of the electric socket makes me question if the wiring is even safe in this place.
No curtains and broken window latch (was on top floor )
Was greeted on the stairs by a large pitbull and owner, so if your shy around dogs this isn't the place for you.
It's a real shame because the size of the hotel the fact it has onsite parking means this hotel really does have great potential to be something great if some money was invested into giving the rooms a full refurbishment and new bedding ect.

Gross

For a cheap hotel we got what we expected but on the other hand we do atleast expect drinking water all taps said not drinking water and there was no where we could get water once we arrived if we knew this before hand we would of got some bottle water but we just assumed they would have some. 
Also our no hot water for showers and the lock on door was broken 


Poor experience 

3  of us stayed in economy room. It was clean but very tired.  There were no curtains only blinds (so not much privacy. The communal toilet/shower also had no curtains. 
A bit noisy on main road outside.
TV did not work  and neither did the lamps above the bed.  Luckily we had our firestick and Good WiFi in the room 👍 
The sink in the room were both hot taps?? 
We ate in the restaurant, the Chinese was lovely! 
Breakfast was continental, which was ok, 
the staff were friendly. 



One night only 

Booked this hotel short notice to visit family in the area.   All I needed was a base and wouldn’t be spending much time here. 

Travelled from the South West and arrived here late on Friday night due to traffic.  Ample enough parking.  Check in was seamless but that is where the positives end. 

Awful musty smell throughout the building.  

Old beds placed in front of fire escapes? 

Carpets throughout the hotel are all old and ripped,  very steep stairs to the second floor and low ceilings.    Got into the room,  plaster hanging off the ceiling,  cleanliness in the room was questionable.   Light about the sink basin did not work (no real issue but it’s there)
Tea and Coffee facilities in the room but the taps are not drinking water - so how are you supposed to make a hot drink if you don’t have bottled water.. 
Remote for TV found dashed on the floor side of the bed. 
Fire notices and evacuation plan propped up against in the wall in what was a broken frame! 

Toilet facilities OK -  Shower is awful,  shower head broken so was just the hose!! 

Breakfast -  absolutely shambolic.   They advertise a full English online…. But what in reality is…. Help yourself consisting of cereals,  croissants and bread….. I say bread because the toaster did not work.   You’ve got a microwave facility there but unless you bring your own food what is the point? 
Had to order food on JustEat and pick it up from a local cafe. 

Bar not open on times advertised.  

It’s a shame as with good investment it has the potential to be an excellent hotel;  very good location but needs to be closed down and completely renovated.
