I have stayed at Birk House on several occasions now, whilst visiting the nearby Nursing Home.  
The premises are so pretty, so delightful and Chrissy always offers 110%.
The rural surroundings are so peaceful, so quiet, a good nights sleep is pretty much guaranteed.
I would strongly recommend.

We have just stayed at birk house b&b for a hen do and the host Chrissy could not do enough for us, very accommodating.  Excellent value for money, pizza party, hot tub and yummy breakfast all included in the price.  Would highly recommend.

Our room and ensuite was very clean and stylish over looking the beautiful back garden and fields. The room was a good size, and we were always warm. We had everything we needed for our stay, even tea and coffee. We all slept very well. Our host was really lovely and was very pleasant, and was looked after well. Breakfast was amazing, plenty to choose from and the cooked breakfast was delicious 😋. Our breakfast table was all laid out each morning ready for when we came down. Couldn't fault it at all.  Would highly recommend this B&B

Lovely location. The view from our room was amazing watched a woodpecker and a wren in the trees. If you want just the sound of nature this is the place to be and Chrissy is so welcoming and friendly.

Very comfortable room with a double bed with a firm mattress, plus a private  spacious attached ensuite including a bath / shower. Very quiet location in the countryside, with lovely gardens. Cooked breakfast was delicious with yogurts, cereals, fruit juices, and fresh fruit available. Good filtered coffee and green tea. Chrissy lives on site and is attentive. Spent time to have a chat. Local to good restaurants (e.g. Thompsons Fish and Chips / Fish restaurant nearby) and local historic attractions / walks. Only about 8 miles from York. Recommended if you want a homely B&B experience.

Had a lovely stay here over the weekend. very nice B&B, rooms were spot on and a very big garden. breakfast was lovely. 

Chrissy went above and beyond for us while we was there, very friendly and helpful and made it a very special welcoming for my sons birthday. we will definitely be staying at this place when we come back to the area.

Absolutely stunning location, perfect host, beautiful comfy rooms , shall defo visit again and highly recommend even for big families

What a little gem of a place, Chrissy the owner couldn't do enough for us all, breakfast was spot on, the gardens were very welcoming and plenty to do for the children. Rooms were spotless and a really decent size, we even had a jacuzzi bath which my daughter really enjoyed.

Great And Comfortable Stay

Excellent Friendly Country B&B close to York

Lovely birthday weekend

We just stayed one night at this lovely B&B just outside Stamford Bridge, about 8 miles from central York.  We found the house quite easily in the dark following the satnav, and were met by Chrissie in the twinkling lights surrounding the garden.  Our room was nice and clean, comfortable bed and spotless en suite bathroom.  It overlooked the large garden area, with a lovely view across the surrounding farmland. Look out for the Pheasant wandering around.  

Chrissie arranged a taxi for us into the Village, beware there are limited taxis, so plan ahead or be prepared to drive if you are heading out for the evening.  

The room had a small tv, kettle, ironing board/iron, WiFi, plenty of storage space. The room was cosy warm too.

The breakfast room had a log burner on first thing and felt very homely.  There were fruit and cereal options, with orange juice.  Followed by a full English accompanied with tea/coffee and toast.  The food was very nice, especially the bacon, which Chrissie gets from the local butchers. 

Our stay was brief, but fulfilled our requirements completely.  The B&B is typically quaint British country style, with a warm welcome.  Thank you.  

Little gem of a B&B

Birk House appeared to be one of the only reasonably priced properties in and around York for group bookings and I am so pleased we came across it. 
The property itself is idyllic and cosy with several bedrooms decorated like something out of a Laura Ashley brochure - each with its own en suite. There is a beautiful garden space overlooking some cornfields that we would have loved to have utilised more if we'd have been luckier with the weather. Never the less, we were able to make use of the private lounge area complete with a log burner, with a few fun board games, music as loud as you like and plenty of your own drinks(fridge and glasses provided!) we still had a great time.
Chrissy is by far the hostess with the mostess!!! With regular contact leading up to the stay, Chrissy went above and beyond to make sure dietry requirements were covered and any additional extras that I required (minibus hire, hot tub etc) were booked for us at the very best prices. During our stay, she was on hand whenever needed via a knock on the door and she cooked up a much needed feast for us after a day at the races as well as a great breakfast spread the following morning. 
The rooms had really comfy beds and the beautiful countryside setting allowed for a great nights sleep. 
This venue is perfect for any occasion, be it a Hen Party, Birthday Bash or Family Holiday!

Perfection!

Myself and nine friends had a great night at Birk House on our third night of the tour. In walking and cycling distance from Stamford Bridge centre, it's in a fab location with countryside views and no traffic disturbances.
Chrissy the landlady is very attentive and friendly and helped with plans for food before our visit. The rooms are comfy and welcoming, perfect for ten tired cyclists to recover

Great for Way Of The Roses cycling

Decided to have an overnight break in York and visit Castle Howard.  Do this quite often through the year, but our usual accommodation was booked up.  Found this more by chance and was most impressed.

Very attentive host, lovely clean and comfortable room and an ample breakfast selection.  Not so easy to find as it’s 500 yards down a track off the road but an idyllic setting.  So quiet you could imagine being the last people on the planet.  Haven’t slept so well in years.  Will certainly be going back in the future.

Stayed on the off chance

We recently stayed at this beautiful b&b with our 3 children and 3 other couples from our family. We had the little hut as we called in and it was just perfect, it has it's own private garden area over looking rolling fields it was just perfect. The other family members stayed in the b&b its self and each room was just as beautiful and clean as the other.. chrissy the host was just lovely couldn't do enough for us.. the pictures I have found online really dont do this amazing little place justice it's just perfect we will definitely be returning 5* and beyond if you ask me definitely recommended by all the holdsworth family
