The Golden Hind

On our first morning, there was a knock at the door at 8:30 which turned out to be a breakfast trolley laden with a full English. We wheeled it across to a table set up by the window and ate looking out at a gorgeous view of St Ives harbour on a lovely sunny day - what a start to a holiday! The food was delicious (really tasty bacon) and varied and Alex was quite happy to adapt daily per requests, e.g. maybe just croissants one day or scrambled eggs and tomatoes for a lighter cooked breakfast. Another nice touch was a bottle of real milk in the fridge along with orange juice and jams. Dragging myself away from breakfast, we were in the top floor room which was very comfortable with the great view. All the usual appliances are provided - tea making, hair dryer etc and there are plenty of sockets. Bathrobes are provided and beach towels as well. There is a good sized shower but no bath in this room. We came by train and had a very short walk from the station. The bus station is also just across the road and we caught an open topped bus there which went all the way to Lands End. A twenty minute stroll will get you to most of the St Ives attractions so an ideal location and a very enjoyable stay.
