Location is pretty good, but that’s it. Mouldy bathroom, shower kept falling off the wall, batteries taken out the fire alarm, no handrails, door to the room insecure, previous guests sweaty old shoes left under the bed, full of dust dirt and grime. Put my 6 month old son on the carpet after a shower and he needed another wash! Full of dirt and someone else’s body hair. Breakfast was grim. The whole house needs condemning by a health and safety inspector. We’re seasoned travellers and have visited st ives many many times. This is by far, the worst place we’ve ever ever stayed. Ever. Spend more, go somewhere else. 

Big mistake 

Just stayed one night here should have been 3nights room was in the attic curtains hanging off.  Door  handle to bathroom hanging off, no hand rail up the stair way just door handles screwed into the wall very narrow stairway.No fire escape front door locked no evidence of any key nearby. Breakfast cold not cooked Was charged £138 for the pleasure never going there again needs health and safety review.

It was evident from when we first arrived that this was a mistake. Our booked parking was not available so we were told we had to find parking and a space close by in public parking would be available the next day. We had to park a fair way from the house. In fairness Christine didn't charge us for the next day. Not a good start though. The building did not live up to the pictures. The house is quite run down and not necessarily clean. The bathroom was very very small, toilet didn't flush properly and the shower was so small you could hardly fit in and wash yourself. The room did have a nice view of the water and the double glazing worked well as the house is on the main road into town. The breakfast was plentiful but food was reheated. I think this place needs a good review for health and safety standards and for accuracy in advertising. I had previously put my concerns to booking.com as I booked through them, they printed all my positive comments, made it sound a good deal, and neglected to mention the issues I had with the place. At the price we paid I would think they would have some concerns at the accuracy of the advertising of this place.

Disappointing mistake

Stayed for two nights and as with another review, as soon as I walked in I knew I had made a mistake. Closers to the door were hanging free (surely a huge safety issue). The pictures on the website are not up to date as they simply could not change them for what the place is like now. Our room had an awful bathroom that smelt like body odour. Mould is evident everywhere. Handle hanging off the inside of the door so couldn't use it.  breakfast was good but we made sure we stayed away as long as possible.

Badly needs updating and health and safety check more importantly

THE worst place I’ve ever had the misfortune to visit. 
Should be condemned. Refurbishment doesn’t come close to what’s required to salvage the premises. 
Just as well St Ives is so idyllic, otherwise the experience would be horrific. 
Appalling state. Avoid. Avoid. I
