Wheelwrights Cornwall - B&B

We had a lovely time at Wheelwirghts, very clean & comfortable place.  The owners are very friendly people.  The breakfast was good, beautiful views from the back of the house and in a sunny position.  A quiet area if you want to relax and soak up the scenic view of the sea and landscape around charlestown.

Plenty of pub meals just down the road from Wheelwrights in walking distance down to the harbour.

Beautiful views, very clean & friendly people

Spent 2 nights at Wheelwrights in October. This B&B is well located and could be excellent but let down by too many details. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and quite well appointed, but like another reviewer we did find it a bit chilly. We found it very strange that we were not given any keys or allowed back to the premises between 10am and 6pm. This really is reminiscent of seaside guest houses in the 1950s and quite unacceptable today!! We were not offered the off street parking featured on the B&B's website but had to park in the street. Breakfast was adequate but uninspiring, we weren't offered any choice and only one slice of toast each! The proprietors were quite friendly and helpful, but overall we felt their hearts weren't really in it and they'd prefer to be doing something else rather than running a B&B!! As a result we couldn't really recommend Wheelwrights to others and wouldn't return there ourselves. A great pity because with a bit more effort this could be such a nice B&B.

Need to try harder!

The room was big and clean, but cold and felt damp, as did the towels - we were told the heating is not usually put on till November.. It was  put on for our second night, but seemed to be on through half the night, then off again come shower time in the morning, so the bathroom was cold again.
We were required to be out of our room from 10AM till 5.00PM and were not given a key as 'too many had been lost'
Breakfast was fine, but we were only given one piece of toast each - another was asked for and given, but it felt mean and penny-pinching.
Given that there are several others very close by, we will try them next time. I hope that maybe we were just unlucky, but there were too many things for us to enjoy our stay.
