What a lovely B&B!! Linda was such a great host very welcoming and helpful. The house itself was beautiful and great attention to detail. Rooms were tidy, clean and peaceful. Breakfast was truly outstanding.  I can't wait to return 10/10 :) xxx

I have been staying with Linda at Fleuchary House for many years and expect to return many more times.  Wonderful rooms, clean, tidy and quiet.  The breakfast can't be beat and Linda is always flexible with requests.  This is a superior location if you are in the area.  5 minute walk to the train station and 20 minutes on the express to St. Pancras.  A short stroll to the center of town.

What a gem. All the little niggles/omissions that are often encountered have been identified and addressed.
Great communications; beautiful room; all amenities provided; wonderful breakfast; to find fault would be both difficult and picky.

I tell friends this is the best B and B on the planet ( certainly is of those where i have stayed!!!)
I occupied the Gold Room and love everything about it....the bed, linen and furnishings are of the highest standards and it is always scrupulously clean
Linda, the owner and host only believes in perfection and her freshly cooked breakfasts put most 5 star hotels to shame
the location is ideal for St Albans City or the train station with fast trains to London...both are approx 10 mins walk
I never stay anywhere else when in Herts and suggest you give Fleuchary House a visit......you will not be disappointed

What a find! We were attending a concert at Wembley & wanted to stay somewhere within close driving distance but a little different from the usual chain hotels. And boy did we find it here!  From initial enquiry, Linda was a wee gem to deal with!  To call Fleuchary House a B&B, feels like a disservice, it is superb!  It has a gorgeous tiled floor in entrance hallway & we had room at front which was opulent in every way - furniture, bed & luxurious bedding (even sleep sprays were provided either side of bed!) Beautiful shuttered windows & fresh milk for tea/coffee available in fridge on hall landing. Breakfast was fabulous with various breads & pastries. As we had some time to spare next morning we spent a few hours in St Albans which is about a 10 min walk, beautiful Cathedral & many unique little shops. We would have no hesitation in recommending Fleuchary House & plan to return to spend a few nights in this beautiful accommodation.  So if you’re looking for somewhere away from the madding crowd, with a unique & personal touch this is it! 

We stayed here for one night, it was near where we was going to see a band play , we arrived to be greeted by the owner Linda .. what a lovely lady she is too she gave us a map of the area as it was our first visit to ST Albans so that was very helpful 😊
We had a walk round then came back to check in our room was one at the top it was tastefully decorated and had everything you needed in it also very clean 
Breakfast was one of the best we have had , the full English was lovely lot us of pastries, pancakes and selection of breads for toast we felt comfortable here and will be returning again if in the area .. thank you Linda for making us feel welcome 😀

Fleuchary house is my go to for myself and my family, when they visit the area and need a place to stay. 

The decoration is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are very well thought out and spacious for UK standards. 

Linda is the most accommodating host ever and the dog is absolutely lovely!

Location is very good, in between St Albans City station and the town centre, with easy access to elsewhere in Hertfordshire, Gatwick, Luton and London. 

I strongly recommend Fleuchary house!

incredible attention to detail, fantastic decor, furnishings and service. Could not recommend this place more highly. Great location for an easy stroll to the city centre with the bonus of free parking, a real bonus in busy st albans

We arrived to a very warm and genuine welcome by Linda and Milly the dog . It was apparent as we walked through the door how spotless the home was. Our room was light and airy with a lovely mix of modern stylish furniture and pretty antique China. There was more than enough tea ,coffee and chocolate,with extra milk and mineral water if needed .
The bed was sooooo comfortable with top class bedding and hot water bottles if needed ( didn't need them as the room was heated just right) . The shower was powerful,spotless and roomy.
Breakfast was scrumptious,everything cooked to order and served pipping hot . I had the granola,yoghurt and fresh fruit, tonnes served and not fridge cold, good quality coffee and nice selection of breads ,cereals and pastries.
It's close to the railway station and our trip into London took 40 minutes. All in all ,a brilliant place to stay,very good value for money . Will stay here again.

Best B&B I have ever seen

Wonderful find ,just perfection.

We’ve just stayed in Fleuchary House for one night and heading to Harry Potter Studios later today which is only a 10-15 min drive away. 
Linda was a great host, very accommodating and friendly.
Our room was lovely with everything you would need. Very comfortable beds and a great shower.
Breakfast was fantastic. A great selection and freshly cooked full English with perfect poached eggs. 
We’ve had a fantastic stay in Fleuchary House and will certainly be returning if we find ourselves in or around St Albans again.

Home away from home

I admit i have reviewed No 29 before but the continued excellence leads me to do so again.( 309 five star reviews should say it all)
Rooms are spacious, expertly and tastefully furnished, together with extremely comfortable beds, quality linens and toiletries .....Linda is the perfect host, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and provides the best freshly prepared breakfast in the City.
On site parking, free wifi,  easy walking distance to city centre in one direction and the train station in the other( 10 mins or less)
all of the above leads me to believe this location deserves to be rated as a 5 star boutique hotel with  Bed and Breakfast prices.....just try it, you will not be disappointed ....whenever i am traveling to St Albans  this is always my first booking  and i change the dates of my trip if rooms are not available....yes it's that good !!!!!!

Perfection...once again

We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 year old. A boutique but homely feel. We took a large bedroom ensuuite  with a super king bed. Room was spacious & accommodation was clean & stylish throughout! Breakfast was fab & filling. Linda the lady of the house was welcoming & informative. Surcharge for direct credit card payments took me by surprise & wasn't flagged in advance.  Apart from that, couldn't fault it!
