Had a fantastic week stay at the Lyness, room immaculate absolutely spotless, beds comfortable, breakfast outstanding but what makes it special is Dave and Val who are fantastic hosts. We will definitely return.

With a little luck we stumbled upon this hotel, booked it as a base for a wedding photography job I was doing in Scarborough.
My only criticism is the free parking, it's a disc display system for three hours and it's on the surrounding roads so you can end up anywhere.
The people who run the hotel are friendly, the room are clean and well kept. Breakfast is very good.
All in all I would use it again if the need arises.

Arrived Friday afternoon, very welcoming and we were in Room 2, good view of back yard.... Room good size, very nice breakfast. Location good for Peasholm Park and nice walk along front on a morning. Only downside is the on street parking, move and you can spend an hour finding another.

We arrived at lyness to a lovely warm welcome on first impression the decor was a little tired but our room was spotless the breakfast was beautiful and we had our 1 year old grandaughter with US not only did they provide a cot but also a changing mat and baby towel our baby bottles where also cleaned everyday and nothing was too much bother the service was second to none and we would highly recommend and will hopefully revisit ourselves soon

Good Weekend Break

Just had a long weekend at this guest house. It's not the best but then again we have stayed in worse. The decor is a little tired but important things like the bed and shower were very good. Breakfast was nice but a little dis- organised. We had to ask for glasses for fruit juice and dishes for cereal. There were 4 of us and there was never enough toast or butter to go round. This house is in Columbus ravine and we have stayed in a few in this area. Guest houses on the left as you go down have lounges that you can sit in but the smaller ones on the right do not.
